Saw Galach in the Horsham pre season friendly and he looked to have come in leaps and bounds. Not sure about first team starts just yet but give him time.

Agree definitely looked more on the mark and got some decent shots off. Being here has probably helped him leaps and bounds.
Pretty decent work out. I took a friend who lives IN Pompey but for her sins is a Fulham fan. Like me she was impressed with our football and the way we passed it around.
Was slightly shocked in the taxi on the way home that the local radio station had Pompey fans on lambasting the score because Crawley came to defend and weren't attempting to play in any way shape or form. Dedluded doesn't do them justice. In my view we matched them and whilst it wasn't edge of the seat stuff it was certainly enjoyable to watch.
One other thing - £10 for the ticket. Think Pompey need to re-think their pricing strategy for the competion
But he did play three or four times, that's a fact.
From hearsay
"hearsay"... really.. are you actually stating that Simon has not seen him 1st hand playing for Burgess Hill...?
Or wasn't the person who informed us about the cryptic reference to the underachievement of "Bry", in their programme notes...?
Only, there are historic posts on this very forum that prove that YOU are misinformed.
However, you are always very welcome to articulate a constructive case that conclusively proves that Galach featured in more than a handful of games for Burgess Hill & that he was highly-rated by them...!
I think the important thing is that whilst I noted above Galach didn't last long playing for Burgess Hill, comments from those that have seen him lately, that he has improved is encouraging and long may that continue. If we build a reputation of improving players it can only help players coming to Crawley, wherever they come from.

That seems to be the idea & there is now genuine competition for places too, which can only be a positive...
...but also makes me wonder what the plan is to keep those who are not starting league games fit & ready, is there a programme of matches (beyond EFLT & SSC) arranged...?

From hearsay.
Well I saw the 2 home games he played for BH, it isn't hearsay that in my opinion he was useless. Taken off an hour into his debut and a sub after that.
I wasn't alone, after he left there was a slightly incautious comment in the match programme saying how poor some signings had been and then had "sorry Bri" in brackets.
Maybe he really has improved since then, personally I assumed he was on the bench because he counted as home grown and we would otherwise have 6 subs.
I'm not sure if the rules now, and I can't be bothered to look it up, but isn't putting a player on the bench with no chance of him featuring a self defeating practice?
Gives the fans a distorted view of the players ability, eventually will cause the player to suffer a massive confidence drain and will actually cost the club money in accommodation costs etc for no purpose.
As I said, I saw Galach play in the Horsham match and I prefer to believe that Cioffi reckons he is worth his place in the bench and this is not a face saving exercise for the club.

how about we keep those players actively involved on training the trophy and SSC matches and progress and win something for a change! I appreciate what you are saying though Thad though i think injuries suspensions will naturally involve those on the fringes of the team from time to time.

A more thoughtful view of the ability of Brian Galach.

Right... so an opinion based on one game at Horsham is "thoughtful", but one based on two games at Burgess Hill is "hearsay"...(?)
Pleased at Jim's assessment, I only saw him in the SSC when he looked complete pants - although only RGC played well - so any improvement is very welcome.

Agree that our squad should be good enough to treat the SSC as realistically winnable.
Thad; I'm not saying he definitely has improved after one pre season friendly but if the manager thinks he is good enough for a place on the bench, and it costs money to take him to games etc, then maybe we should give him and Cioffi the benefit of the doubt?

I was Jim, but equally feel Simon made a valid point only to have it inaccurately dismissed with no rational counter being offered. I want all of our players to progress & succeed, i'm prepared to be patient about it too.
I'm actually surprised - and quietly pleased - that no-one has come in for a few of ours who broke through last season.

Have to be honest Jim, I did think that!!🤭 we can finally have 7 subs....but only if Galach is the 7th sub!

The stats say he played 6 games for them and even scored a goal. Maybe seeing just 2 of them isn’t really enough to judge his potential.
Remember we are taking about a then 17 year old. Give him a chance to develop both physically and football education wise
