FT 2-1 win. First half was rubbish we never got going and Colchester had a succession of corners which they eventually made count and went in deservedly 1-0 up. Second half we played with a lot more energy and got back into the game with an excellent goal from outside the box from Reece with a cracking pot shot into the bottom corner which caught everyone by surprise. From then on we pushed for a winning goal and it came after a good move and excellent early cross from Young which was well headed in by Bloomfield (Young and the other wide players should take note that an early cross is much more effective than taking a touch or two before deciding to cross). A good result in the end. I think we’ll win as many as we lose this season, the majority of our games have been pretty tight. We certainly don’t need to fear Colchester in the Carabao cup we can definitely win that one now we know we can beat them!
A game of two halves in which we were far better in our - taking the game to them - second half. Playing Reece more alongside Bloomfield works far better. If we get off to a good start, as in the second half today, we have nothing to fear against Col U in the cup.
Spoke too soon eh all we had to do was play it on the floor. Great goal from Reece and JTG is no doubt fist pumping the air in joy after Lewis Young’s great cross to secure the game. we keep conceding silly goals.
if he plays his weakened side he's lost the plot. I think he'll play his weekend side and hopefully they'll defend better than England last night.
Why would he play his weakened side? We don’t have a Tuesday fixture and it’s a league game. I don’t understand your your statement. This is of course his strongest side barring injuries.
It was about the two tough away fixtures we have. I would want our strongest side to scrap for at least a point.

One “great cross” from him in one game doesn’t make him a decent player.
He needs to do that in every game he plays.
Incidentally, is that the first time he’s been on a winning side this season?

Spot on in every respect. Didn't put a foot wrong and what a great cross.
Young had one of his best games for Crawley; defensively solid and joined in the attack well. Cioffi now has a dilemma; does he go for the experience of Young or the youthful exuberance of Sessay.
That was woeful. We are not surviving league 2 with this squad. Enjoy the cup run.
This is awkward... Have you changed your opinion after that turnaround?
Second half was much better and Ashley Nathaniel-George could have scored twice as well after coming on. Colchester were a very big team and looked dangerous at almost every set piece. Looking forward to the cup game, just hope we start like we did second half.

I’m not sure he doesn’t put in at least one decent crowd every game already, people just choose not to remember it.

Only downer for me was hearing that we've sold out for the cup match. Is that right? As one of the regular 2000 at home and occasional away supporter too I'm wondering where all these extra fans have come from. Still - you snooze, you lose as they say, and delighted that more people are coming to watch. Back to your original point, yes, no reason to believe we can't win that game. Colchester weren't great today. Although nor were we for large parts.
