So it's almost time, no more pre-season games and the real stuff begins on Saturday.
Decisions for HK to make - particularly at the back judging by some people's thoughts on Lelan in particular on Saturday. It looks as if Smith will miss out through injury and McNerney could be a doubt.
So, who'd you pick in the XI? A place for Cox after what seemed to be a strong performance without him on Saturday?
I've not seen us yet under HK but coming on Saturday so looking forward to it - strangely!
Anyway, who'd be in your XI and what formation would you go for?
I try to put out a side and I end up with a system of play that leaves our better players out if position or another system that leaves our better players out altogether.
I think we all agree that Morris, Connolly, Bulman and Roberts should play but then we are on preferences and prejudices.
Kewell seems to want a 5 - 2 - 2 - 1 which I'm ok with but it may lead us being too deep at home and looks goal shy but it's not terrible for the players we have.
With McNerney may be out with his injury then I think his replacement will be Young and as HK seems to like three at the back with wing backs then Young will play in place of McNerney even if fit.
I do wonder if Cox should get a spot he isn't as athletic as Roberts or Enzio but we really lacked quality delivery on Saturday which in theory Cox has.

Jim "confused of Crawley" Baker
I can't help you with the confusion Jim, But isn't the unstated truth at this stage that what is actually most important is the attitude, approach & tempo...? If I was HK I'd spend this week asking myself which players have the winning outlook & belief that I'm after.
Nice to see you responding with more positives RRR....but you have had the desired effect....I find it difficult to read/post on the forum now, something like my good friend get in yer box...we have given up and will simply get on with supporting the team

Don't give up!
If positive posters stop posting then we are left with only the moaney guys posting. That means it's boring and stops more people posting which means it becomes a vicious circle.
I'll admit I'm pessimistic about our chances this season but I will still support the team and you will not hear me shout out disparaging remarks to players I don't like. Turn round to friends and slag 'em off but never shout it out.
Pessimism time. I will be happy with any result on Saturday. I think Port Vale we be pushing for a play off place at the end of the season so a point would not be a so bad. 1-1 with Connolly with the goal for us from a set piece.
Pretty much my thinking as well, although wouldnt be upset to see Camara get some minutes and I dont have a problem with using Yorwerth as long as he can keep his discipline. They have Pope and Tyrone Barnett so could be an interesting afternoon for our defence. Just dont want to see Lelan risked at right back, he just makes too many mistakes and despite his faults Young is quick, athletic and has a very good attitude.
