Not a regular poster on here but more of a browser - however today warrants it. It was horrendous and really painful viewing by the end. I’m not sure I agree with the manager sacking but if another performance like that turns up then questions have to be asked, let’s not forget we’ve had two half decent performance on the bounce away from home. Lets see how Tuesday goes as that will say a lot about the players mentality, I’d like to think anyone could motivate them for that and if we see something similar then there’s huge problems behind the scenes
That was feckin bollox, got soaked going to the game got soaked when we left at 3 - 0 Swindon liked playing in the rain we didn't One of our Liverpool based fans came down for that crock of sh1t. Oh well another 32 points should see us safe
The truth is we have 5 wins from 16 games which is poor. Coffin has a win ratio of 31 percent. We have shipped out all out experienced midfielders and are left with two central midfielders who are very inexperienced and were playing conference south football 12 - 24 months ago. The squad is totally unbalanced with wide men and desperately needs a left back and a couple of decent midfield players.
Have got to agree with all of above, The most disappointing bit for me was the lack of effort pride and passion. There is know excuse for that, Its great to turn it on in the Cup but the League is our bread and butter and it’s about time we did a lot better on that front. If things have not improved by December then The managers position has to be looked at.
Well it's coming to that time of year when with a third of the season gone the tables start to mean something. Luckily it is only 1 down this year, and I would be astonished if we were sucked into a scrap.
On this day last season we were in 10th place - W7, D2, L7, F24, A 25, Pts 23 This season we are in 17th place - W5, D5, L6, F23, A27, Pts 20
So 7 places lower, but only 4 points off 8th place and a win yesterday would have had us in 11th.
On the positive side we are still in the FLC with 3 good wins, and a useful draw in the FAC.

We desperately missed senior players yesterday, such as jimmy smith, Dannie Bulman, Karl Payne and Filipe Morais.
Why did Cioffi let three of these out on loan and the other is in the stands?
They are senior players who have class and heart, they are skilful and determined.
The midfield yesterday are young and in experienced and lack effort and desire.
The other difference between the two groups above is wages. The senior crew are more expensive than the others, and I think this may be the real reason they are out on loan.
One other observation about yesterday is that we need to become a lot more aware of the dark arts. Swindon are a half-decent footballing side... but they knew how & when to get a cheap free kick, we made it far too easy for them.
Their kit man will spend a lot of effort getting the grass stains out of the away strip.
I am not saying that we need to become a bunch of cheats, however we are not street-wise enough & need to sharpen up against teams who know how to con a ref.
Clearly an awful performance; and probably the worst 90 minutes I’ve seen this season.
So far this season we’ve come up short when we play against playoff contenders (Crewe, Forest Green, Bradford, although we did get points against Newport and Cheltenham) but we have generally performed well against the mid / bottom half sides (only losing to Walsall and Carlisle in that region); so Swindon was always going to be a tough game; but I didn’t expect that performance.
If there has been a falling out with Bulman; then this needs to be remedied. In letting Smith and Morais leave; Bulman’s importance to the team has been elevated and if fit (which he appears to be) you would expect him to at least be on the bench. (I know Payne has been mentioned; but does anyone think he would have solved our problems yesterday; I’m certain he’ll improve Ebbsfleet, he scored yesterday, but I don’t think he’s at the level we need).
Now I think is all about the reaction; last season in early November we lost 4-0 at home to MK Dons and in our next game we got a good draw away to Southend in the FA Cup. If we win on Tuesday, we’ll move on from Swindon; but lose and the transfer policy, personality clashes etc will all be blamed. Let’s not panic just yet; we’ve got a big game to look forward to. In fairness to Cioffi; if the players aren’t up for Tuesday (and the opportunity that a win could bring) then it would be a big concern.

What do you reckon?
I think the Senior players have voiced distain and questioned the Italian's tactics and in return, he's either moved them on or tried to freeze them out.
It appears it's his attitude of "Do as I say or move on" that in time, will ultimately lead to his downfall.

Bulman returned to training last week after an injury. Perhaps at 40 Cioffi was just playing it safe and ensuring he was ready for Tuesday.
Morais will not be back. It was pretty clear he wanted out, and widely reported that his family were still up north.
"Karl Payne" I'm afraid is not good enough at this level (assuming you mean Josh).
Jimmy Smith - agreed we need to get him back. Playing every week for Yeovil so should have some match fitness now.

...apparently certain cheap versions of new Huawei ‘eyespie’ phone have a software error that auto corrects ‘Josh’ in to ‘Karl’ by mistake. So let’s apply the benefit of the doubt here until we get confirmation from the OP ref which device he used...

Looks like the next month will be quite key.
It should be noted thought that we are at the bottom of a cluster of teams on the same number of points - mainly due to the margin of yesterday's defeat.
I thought pretty much the whole team struggled to forget Tuesday night, there was no shape, no commitment, in case of injury before Tuesday, no closing down, no tackling with any real intent. The shape was poor and there was no effort to forget Tuesday night.
Other than hitting the post, Ferguson's only impact was on his own players - I think he wiped three out at one point or another and we only really looked like something would happen when Ollie came on with 10 mins left.
Poor Mason was ineffectively chasing shadows all game and looking seriously unfit, Ferguson may as well have joined me in the stand and Reece, very unlike him, overran everything while still looking our best player.
Let's not analyse the defence too much - four completely unchallenged goals, all in the middle against some of our better players in recent weeks.
Personally, I can't blame the players for being distracted, it was bound to happen. The one worry is that Colchester seem to be coming onto a game, they know from the second half of the league game that their defending in depth won't work against us, so they may be more attack minded and any scout on Saturday would be rubbing their hands in anticipation.

Still onwards to Tuesday.
GABRIELE CIOFFI's RED ARMY!
Ferguson is without a doubt one of the most frustrating players I’ve ever seen in a Crawley shirt. Clearly has talent, but his lack of effort winds me up no end. Never more than strolling round the pitch
