Crawley Town play at home against Colchester United in the Carrabo Cup this evening Tuesday 29th October, 7:45pm kick off. Please keep all discussion about the match to this thread. Thank you and come on you Reds
The management of the players will be absolutely key as well as attitudes. What are people looking for in their anticipation of the match? Im looking for a safe but hostile atmosphere where we can use the crowd to our advantage and create the 12th man. I want 100% from all, I want proper intellectual, passionate and appropriate management and coaching for the players to work together as a team do the simple stuff well and build on that we must play to our strengths and that may very well rest on if Ollie starts, does well and how well Col U defend against what lets be honest is plan A and our only plan of approaching the game. If we go behind I fear us getting back into the game as we haven't always shown enough management to change things. It is at the end of the day all down to 90 mins (albeit extension of that perhaps for Pens). Can we start playing on the front foot but with balance within the ranks of the players on the pitch. Please please please can Bullman start and can we do all this without silly mistakes and naive defending? Am I asking too much - only time will tell.
Game could go either way, we may have another penalty shoot out! I really hope we don’t have another penalty shoot out though as I don’t think my nerves could take another! Great opportunity for both sides to get to the quarter finals and draw one of the big boys! Should be a great atmosphere again.
Struggled to keep the ball in later stages. Momentum is with Col U after an excellent strike from Bullman. I dont want to see 2 lines of 4 defenders unnecessarily any more. How long before Ollie comes on? H/t 1-1
Afters Saturdays diabolical performance, I'm giving this one a miss, could not even get rid of my ticket. On streaming the game i never realised how poor we really are, Basically this manager has no more idea than the average supporter, common sense says he has to go, the sooner the better.
Second goal was quite unlucky with the rebound onto the keeper's back. However third from Gambin really was quality and guys on Sky said we were well beaten.
One win in 11 isn't great form and a win on Saturday is important to arrest the decline.
What happened to the players we signed in the window - Van Velzen and Boadu? I can barely remember them mentioned. Surely not more Verheydt/Sanoh/Meite/German types.
Where to start. Great strike from Dannie and we look good at 1-0.Not playing great but a world beater gives us something to play and build on. We go straight to sleep and it’s 1-1 Their big fella upfront caused us so many problems. 1-1 at h t and all to play for. Yet we come out on the back foot. Can’t tell you too much about their 2nd goal....it hits the crossbar then god knows what happened there after. I thought Ollie made a BIG difference, but we still didn’t manage a shot on target, and that’s a worry. Ashley looks lightweight to me, a total opposite from their big guy who totally bullied our back line and it’s 3-1 game over. We had no response to that.
The much better team won, and I wish them well in the draw.
It could of been us but we were out fought, thought and outplayed I’m afraid to say. 😐
