I am sorry that it did not work out for Cioffi. Pleased that he broke away from HK passing it out from the back. He got the team scoring goals but in the end results let him down.
I really liked the core style of play he introduced, however he appeared reluctant to vary things when circumstances required it, which proved his ultimate undoing.
On balance, i think history will judge him favourably.
I’d much rather a combination of Bulman, Morris & Smith take over the reigns even if just till end of season. How many L1 & 2 games between those 3! Plus about 60 years experience at this level, why not use it?
We cannot take a Kevin Keegan risk here. Some great players do not make great managers. But are there any good managers affordable and available now? I would like to see us approach managers that we wouldnt dream of asking normally what have we to lose and there are only so many clubs to go around so there must surely be some good ones out there keen to restart again and what better than a well oiled family club.
It’s really not that complicated though is it? Look at the mindless decisions Cioffi has made and Rubio surely had some input? He was constantly talking to Gabby during the games so I don’t see how anyone can say he didn’t have an influence unless he was whispering sweet nothings. If Gabby was blanking him then he would have given up a long time ago. How hard is it to work out that when we are chasing a game, it’s better to put on an attacking player than swapping a full back?? Edu Rubio has a lovely sounding name, but he’s never played the game and if he was John Smith from Macclesfield everyone would be saying why on earth is he taking over, that’s a fact. It might just be that they don’t want to pay off 2 staff, and if that’s the case this has got disaster written all over it, because if Crawley go down we are staying down for a long long time possibly forever.

I believe if we were relegated that would be a nose dive to oblivion but that isnt going to happen as we have too much ability in the side to go down for that Selim is right we do have talent just arguably not well balanced out directed maybe coached and managed. Good managers have to work with the employees they take on and i really do not think the new manager needs a wholesale clear out we have a good set a players perhaps one or two areas need improving (Please start with the defence!).

Middlesbrough thought that when they had Ravanelli, Janinho (excuse the possible spelling mistakes) and co and look what happened

Wonder if Pochettino fancies some charity work if we promise not to mention his foul on Michael Owen. Oops, I just did.

and if he did (he and others alike) we would see just how good (or not) a manager they really are!

Not sure I ever got what his core style was but it certainly gave opposition keepers a quiet time of things generally. Also totally the opposite on the ditching the playing out from the back as our centre backs have now reverted to lumping balls forward and gifting possession to the opposition. Also has anybody analysed just how young our matchday team is as Cioffi often banged on about how young they are and needing time but surely the core of our team is very experienced? I notice Jack Powell has scored a few for Aldershot, a hard-working, competitive goalscoring midfielder, just what we need?
