I'm afraid you will never get very far with a defence with Tajbaksh, Yorwerth and Blackman in it.
Well done to the 100 odd who travelled but it's pretty clear HK decided to get this one out of the way. Bit of an insult I would have said.
Sorry to say that after that bizarre first press conference I said to my lad "gone by Christmas" and nothing I have seen with our signings, tactics and results convince me otherwise.
As someone said upthread this was our Checkatrade team and the result reflects that.
Well done to Panutche Camara, he looks the one promising sign so far. Last season in the Rymans, this season scoring a screamer at St Andrews.
Defence was woeful again. No different to Port Vale really with opposition players given way to much time and space in and around the no.
Jewell needs to focus on not conceding goals before anything or he will be sacked by the end of the month. If Cheltenham and Cambridge defeat us I think HK will struggle to survive. There is no foundations or resilliance in any of his teams.

Harry isnt an arogant Dermot Dummy but he does seem to have half a brain and if we are honest at this stage, so far, compared with the other previous clowns weve had manage the club, Harry really is the ring master of the circus, i just hope this slows learner quickens up....come on ...Hurry up Harry.
1/Why was Josh Payne playing as a centre half? 2/Where was our central midfield? 3/The fact Boldewijn played suggests he was't injured on Saturday. What was Harry thinking?
Listening to the commentary how bad we were doing was summed up when a Brum player played a loose pass and the commentator said that was worthy of the Crawley defence!

Jim Baker
possible Enzio injury recovered or taken off saturday as precaution but when Harry says f--- all can only assume the half baked brain of his is clueless. As for midfield....we dont have any! As for Payne again Harry has no idea about his players...cue the King inbetween the sticks Saturday....
That Adams tore us apart with his running, we looked off the pace.
At the time it looked to me as if Camara had mis controlled the through ball.Watching that back now I take that back. His first touch, on the turn was sublime. The only highlight of the night for us.
Feel sorry for myself and the other fans that had made the journey AND also the players last night. 9 changes versus Birmingham, what chance did they have. Thinking Crawley can produce two sides that can compete at that level is either arrogance/stupidity or both. Any players that are close to the starting 11, maybe 1 or 2 of them could and should have been given a run out with the 1st team last night to give them half a chance. And also bring a few on towards the end to rest 1st team. How are we going to integrate the squad players into the 1st team when the only chance they get is when they get put out like lambs to the slaughter. Confidence must be shot. Did any other side (including championship) make that many changes last night? I'm not looking that up but I know the answer
It all smacked very much of the Premier League mentality to treat the cups with contempt, but somebody needs to remind HK that he isnt in the PL anymore and that decent cup runs can revitalise a club/town. Somebody earlier said we couldnt expect to win and the league is more important, but on a one off basis I disagree. If we had got a result last night the boost it would give us all would be massive, if we win at Cheltenham so what we have another 44 to go. Nobody much in the town would get excited if we win Saturday but if we won (or even competed as Morecambe did) in the full glare of Sky Sports News as well then our couch potatoes would have noticed. Now all they have noticed is that we are crap (because of the team selected). How can you suddenly integrate 9 changes and expect a decent performance, by all means in a PSF but this was important!!!!!! And I know we are a small club/budget/etc etc and so are Accrington/Newport/Morecambe who all put up strong performances last night.
When you support a lower league team, i look forward to those games when your team has the opportunity to take on clubs from higher leagues and put up a fighting performance. When Crawley town take the field i want them to give their all and put out a team that stands a chance of winning. Last night team selection gave us no chance. I appreciate that some players should be rested but making 9 changes to saturdays team gave those players selected no chance to gell into a winning team. Last season we played away at Wolves. No one gave us any chance and indeed we lost the match but we at least put up a decent fight.
HK needs to get the supporters on his side. At the moment he is doing his best to lose any support he may have had.
Tajbaksh played centre mid - had a good game too. Payne played a similar role to Yorwerth against Port Vale - half in, half out of a back three. The full backs were Lewis (sort of) and Blackman. A midfield four of Sanoh, Tajbaksh, Djalo and Cox with Harrold up front. Yorwerth was the pick, and Tajbaksh, Blackman (going forward) and Payne also played well. Sanoh didn't impress me on that showing, and Djalo had a mare - rarely finding one of his team mates. If you pick a reserve team away against a Championship side, you're giving the game up before the kick off.
Well that was dreadful. As soon as the team was announced we all knew we'd be well beaten and if the fans are thinking that, let's get real, the players would have felt the same. Three or four changes I'd have accepted - and I think others would be in agreement, too.
It looked a case of square pegs in round holes again with Payne playing centre back in one of nine changes from Saturday. It was actually Payne's failure to switch on to a quick free kick that gifted Birmingham the first goal just after it looked like we'd weathered the early storm from them and were finding our feet in the game.
We collapsed like a pack of cards with two more before half time and it was game over. It genuinely looked like the players couldn't be bothered in the first half, with only Yorwerth and maybe Tajbaksch - IMO - coming out with any sort of credit.
The second half was played in first gear by both teams, we gifted Brum a couple more and grabbed one back via a great touch and hit from Camara, who must surely be in the thoughts of HK for Cheltenham on Saturday - personally I'd like to see him in a two with TV.
The team selection last night puts Kewell under massive pressure to get something from Cheltenham away - not must win just yet, but vital to get a point on the board with a rested first team.
Who gave Sanoh a two-year deal? He looked awful last night and has no attributes for a winger - not particularly quick or agile and his first touch is crap as well. Lewis didn't offer much either, McNerney looked shaky in the first half too, whilst Kaby continually gave the ball away. Such a disjointed display.
As for bringing Boldewijn on at 4-0 down, well, what was the point?
Glad I didn't go last night. HK is a disaster already. Played an understrength side against Brighton. Then played possibly the strongest 11 behind the closed doors game again against Brighton. Against Port Vale we were 2-1 down going for the equaliser and possibly the winner then HK makes subs which not only broke up the teams flow but made the team weaker. Last night he took the total piss out of those that travelled by again playing a weak team. After one league game I am already disillusioned and am thinking have I got better things to do on Saturdays.
I'll ask again ,does anyone at the football club have a fucking clue what they're doing.??
I get the horrible feeling they're making it up as they go along. It has been a horrendous start for Kewell and he absolutely needs to get he's act together sharpish or this will end in tears sooner rather then later.
