Reasonable result though really Stevenage are a sh1t team punching well above their weight. We hover dangerously above the drop zone and are a long long way from security. Obviously its early days and hopefully again two teams worse than us.
Fantastic result - don't care how it was achieved. And it sounds as if Meite gave their defence something to think about too. I seem to recall Stevenage being one of the best sides (if not THE best) at the Broadfield last season. Now let's see how we can do against super confident high flying Notts County on Saturday.
It was a decent point which could have been three in difficult second half conditions. We generally hassled them well all over the pitch and didnt give them too much time on the ball apart from their goals when their 19 stumbled through several poor challenges (midfield) and managed to get his shot past/through Morris. 2nd half against wind and rain was much better and apart from one great save at the end by Morris we were never in much danger as we were not giving them time. Overall a good solid display and Meite was a handful all night with his direct running and his power and pace, he does look an exciting player and scored a good goal and could have had others. Also what I liked he does try and get on the end of crosses (was unlucky after great work by Lewis Young on the right but his goalbound effort was blocked on the line. Must admit though I cannot see any reason why Dennon Lewis gets in the side, as an attacking player he offered very little until his injury, also Doherty looked a bit lost and was subbed but early days maybe for him. I still worry where enough goals are going to come from but was impresses by Meite and looking forward to seeing him play Saturday now (maybe with Roberts back as well).
