I understand steeve when i say we have to talk lore about the style, how we create chances ...
But it's poor what we propose...
Often, we play long ball on the first kick (Morris) and we doesn't have a dominant player to keep the ball or to attack the space ( perhaps Nadesan can play that role when he would to play.. )
We dont put the midfielders to win the second ball except on a kick-off at the center
We dont have a global plan to press opponent team and i think for now it's not possible because Yems ( by choice or perhaps lack of choice) put players which don't run alot.
And Craig,in my opinion can be that type of player and i understand why some people focus on him... i'll not put other weight on this back but its a big factor of the shakiness of the defence...
For example, you just have to look how he manages direct throw-in and free-kick , how sometime he and others clearly refuse to follow Morris'instructions
The team have some good player but it seems we dont manage to put then in the best condition...
Tsaroulla is very good with the ball but how we put him closer to the box to use his quicky feet ...not with long balls which aren't wining by us... In a team who plays more in on the ground him and Ferry and a other CM could combine on the left flank with Ferry wide Tsaroula or the CM half space but in back and the other in the upper half space
Ferry have good pace, stamina and good attitude on the pitch .. i think perhaps as he is loaned they dont work more with him i don't know..
Appiah seems a player who can combine and have a good flair on the box but perhaps he have to play a little closer of Nichols who are the better ball holder upfront in my opinion...
Nichols has been 3 games he seemed tired or have a lack of juice... i understand Yems who want to count on his "best" player but the guy come back from injury...
Sometimes he takes times to get back after an injury but Nichols had a great restart perhaps now he have the little breakdown but that is normal...
But Yems ,at the begining, had to deal with a moutain of injuries and new players but now i think the two mounth will show what type of manager he is...
I'll just say if i was manager i'll not play that much somes of this "usual" players...but sometimes we haven't somes infos the coaching squad have.
For now , i think the team can do lot better , be in the Top7 but right now Yems don't have the best chemistry..
Focusing on an individual player is not the right way to look at it.
An individual can have a stinker, he can be on a poor run of form or he can be below the standard required but he is the player we have and its how to hide the limitations of the individual player within a team structure that's going wrong.
People who chat to me know I have a bee in my bonnet about our midfield. I think each player is good enough in themselves but, imho, they do not work well as a group. What can be done about my particular bug bear? I know, let's get a professional football man to cast his eye over them, pinpoint where its going wrong and put a strategy in place to solve it. Always bearing in mind we don't have a pot to pee in.
Now where can we find this person? Preferably with non-league to Premier league experience, hmmm?

Jim Baker
Best post I've seen on here for a while, this run of form and the terrible performances I've witnessed quite a lot of times since even going back to the Leeds match aren't just the fault of one or two individuals, Jim is right on the money in that there is no structure to this team that makes sense and it just really exposes the limitations of some players, hence the types of goals we keep giving away. I think we need to get a proper manager in who can clearly identify the issues that are causing the defence to give away bad goals and the real lack of creativity going forward, as at the moment it looks like all they did was just say something like 'Oh it was the ref's fault why we lost that last game, if we do the exact same thing I'm sure we'll win' rather than properly look into why we aren't creating chances, taking advantage of set pieces etc. This to me is just really infuriating as I think the midfield especially will start to look very strong if they were being coached properly (such as being taught how to press and cover, as well as developing passing and crossing skills).
As for where we could find this person, I'd be tempted to go down the route of finding a respected up-and-coming young coach who isn't afraid to make bold decisions, knows a lot about tactical systems and as I've mentioned before, has a clear vision as to how they'd want the team to play and feels they can build an exciting project that lines up well with what I think Erdem and co are trying to achieve (such as giving more opportunities for younger players and playing a pressing game which can unsettle opponents). I wouldn't mind too much either if it ends up being someone with experience of performing well in this league such as Tisdale or McGreal, as for me they would definitely be massive upgrades on Yems and have a certain style and philosophy I could buy into. But we need to steer clear of the likes of Sheridan and Westley if we do decide to make a change soon though.
Yeah I remember a few weeks ago he told me he was hoping to be back earlier this month, so it must have been aggravated since then
Dallison must be injured too seeing that he wasn't in the squad at the weekend
Was Dallison injured though? He finished the Tuesday game fine on Tuesday and can’t imagine much training between Tuesday and an away Saturday. Leaving him out the squad altogether though and Yems doesn’t look like he’s made the moronic decision to pick Craig over Dallison!
Let's not forget too that Dallison was dropped in favour of Mark f****** Wright for a crucial game vs Harrogate last season too, that angered me quite a lot to be honest
Three games ago, we were 8th in the table, just out of playoff spots on GD and 3rd in the form league (past 6 games). Now, losing those 3 including against the bottom team, I accept people ain’t gonna be happy and it’s natural to vent some disappointment. But I still think we need to look at our football beyond a perspective of 3 games. I’d say we have a long term problem of our away form but I’m pretty happy generally about performance levels in front of the home fans

Before the whole Wright brothers circus we were 10 games undefeated including the Leeds game. As much as Yems deserves credit for getting us in that position he deserves criticism for destroying the season. Yes we sold Watters, but he was injured for most of that run so we were far from a one man team. Yes we had covid outbreak but so did others. I believe Yems wanted to play his mates and would have picked M Wright over Dallison again and again if he could have. Didn’t matter how bad J Wright was or how often we lost he would pick him. Imagine what this would do to a dressing room? With the squad we had last season was a disappointment. This season doesn’t matter how bad Craig plays he’s going to play him. We need change soon before this season is lost but I feel the owners are going quiet and perhaps losing interest in this project.

That's purely your speculation, preposterous accusation and negative interpretation, in my opinion.

I think if the hierarchy were going quiet and losing interest I doubt Erdem would have been willing to put himself in front of fans tomorrow evening and answer questions, think the timing of it is definitely more than a coincidence too, and whilst Yems definitely does seem to have his favourites and freeze out other players for no apparent reason, I highly doubt M Wright would have been picked all the time if he could (and to be honest the whole episode with that was insulting, especially to players like Nick Tsaroulla would have worked their socks off just to be able to play professional football). But I do agree though that a more competent manager would have got us much nearer the playoffs last season

That was a total disgrace to start Mark Wright in a league game. We had a few other experienced professional players that could’ve slotted in at left back in that game and to play a very inexperienced celebrity footballer in a professional match was in my opinion unjustifiable and a significant contributing factor in a bad result. If I had paid to be at that game I would have been disgusted and I’m sure the players in the squad were insulted having a glorified celebrity footballer start over them and having him in and around the camp may have damaged morale in the team at a crucial point in the season.
I agree Alex, although I wonder if we know the full story. He was also brought on as substitute for the Leeds match. This must have unsettled the squad morale.
