Disappointing to not take all the points this evening I thought we had a good second half definitely improved. Good to see Reece playing again and what a strike we we're a bit unlucky but the defending wasn't great at the key moment and really a simple goal to equalise. FT 1-1
Newport probs among the top 4-5 teams in the division given how they stroke the ball around, they edged a tight first half but we were clearly the better team in the second half and that’s a really good effort by us. Shame yes we didn’t see it home and got pegged back so late but even then we didn’t crumble and it was mostly us to the final whistle, that Kwesi lob rebounding off the bar was agonising but a game of inches as ever.
My only puzzle was seeing Tilley off so early in the second half when in my book he was our best performer, all round better than in Barrow. Not sure RCG up to full speed yet but of course he needs patience.
I thought the equaliser was a very good multi pass goal by Newport, couldn’t see an obvious error but will see on the highlights.
What’s incredible for me is we are nearing a stage of not missing our best player Tunnicliffe. The CBs were again excellent tonight and our second best player Lynch could lose his starter place now
First half rubbish, second half very good. Should’ve scored 2 or 3 to see the game out in the second half, but pegged back to 1-1 which made an exciting finish where we were really pushing for the winner in the last 5-10 minutes, coming close a few times. Appiah hit the bar with a cheeky lob that could’ve easily dropped in another day and Grego-Cox nearly had a fairy tale return from injury with a late drive from outside the box their keeper saved well. In the end it wasn’t meant to be. Feels like 2 points thrown away as we we had the game in our grasp second half, but never killed off!
Overall I thought this was a lot more satisfying than the weekend result funnily enough, as being unlucky not to beat one of the best teams in the division does show that we have seemed to turned a corner in the last week. If RGC's shot that was saved had gone in that would have been incredible and I'd probably have got pretty emotional, but was so good to see him back and he clearly can still offer something to this team with his willingness to take players on and shoot.
Ludwig was really good and I voted for him as my man of the match, whilst Craig seems to have improved from last season too which is also a positive. Think if either of those are dropped for Lynch on Saturday they would be very unlucky. Fantastic cross from Powell for the goal and Kwesi was unlucky with the lob too. Think one thing that stood out for me is that even when the Welshmen got their equalizer we looked more likely to win the game afterwards, which is a contrast from some recent games where we've just collapsed after letting one goal in
Definitely a lot more positives than negatives to take from that match despite the late goal conceded and think if we play like that on Saturday I feel we have a very good chance of beating Mansfield

Satisfying in how well we played in the second half for sure, but I definitely came away with a sense of disappointment that we didn't make our superiority in the second half count. Newport equalizer was a real sicker and was totally against the run of play. Thought Nadesan and Appiah both played well.
