I bet it wont be long before he has another managers job because in football it does not matter how bad you fail some club somewhere will take a punt on you.
Yes indeed, that's one thing I really hope clubs stop doing as the tendency to hire the same guys again and again even though they've proven to be not good at their jobs I think has limited opportunities for young British managers to prove themselves. For example I think in the Premier League the reason why we didn't have many good younger English managers getting jobs in it was a lot more down to clubs continuously offering jobs to the likes of Pardew, McCarthy, Bruce etc than the influx of foreign coaches. Arguably it's even worse in the lower leagues (I've lost count how many clubs John Sheridan, Graham Westley and Simon Grayson say have managed in the last few years) where really these should provide the best chances for young managers to make a name for themselves and develop their skills and philosophy
Whatever some may say about Steve Evans, his passion and will to win could never be called into question. When Crawley Town and Evans first got together, it's possible that no-one else would have put up with either; Evans had been found wanting over some financial irregularities and Crawley was a financial basket case. A marriage made in hell, but at least it was warm.
Also it’s simply wrong to say promotion was inevitable during our final conference season, Luton were very well funded also and Wimbledon were on their charge up the leagues
Didn't say inevitable. I said expected...mind you Luton would have expected it too, not so sure about Wimbledon expecting more hoped for.
I'm being pedantic but the transfer fees we paid out and the quality of the players we brought in I would say if we did that again now I would expect us to get promoted again.

Yep, only our corrupt owners at the time would’ve appointed him.
Hmm a puzzle for the ages then, why non-corrupt owners continued to employ him at Crawley and a host of owners at clubs afterwards, if all he did was spend money and get expected results.
Steve Evans is back in football management after immediately replacing the sacked Paul Tisdale at Stevenage
His management career has really gone downhill after the promotions at Rotherham and managing Leeds. Now he’s just of the run of the mill lower league journeyman manager.

Yes that's very right indeed, he's now in the same bracket as ones like Sheridan, Curle, Hill, Tisdale etc
Basically the types of managers I hope not to see in charge of us anytime soon as there's no chance of them offering anything remotely innovative and inspiring

Given he spent the first half of his career in nonleague he’d probably take that.
Anyone that has a 41% win record over almost 1,100 senior games as a manager must have something about him.
You always get a certain amount of baggage with SE but he usually delivers. I'm not sure about going downhill - Getting Gillingham to 10th in last 2 seasons on the budget they have was frankly a miracle.
