Mr Eren if you ever read this- Thank you for your support of Crawley throughout your ownership and thank you for sticking by the club during the last 2 years of uncertainty. All we ask is that if you do sell you please try and make sure we’re in good hands.

Yes I share those same feelings, especially during the Covid seasons
That article in the Sussex express was saying that the club have refused to comment on this speculation when asked by the local media, it does make me wonder if some big developments are happening indeed as you would have thought they'd have ruled it out if they weren't planning on selling it anytime soon.

I don't see how any big developments would happen, we do not have the stake in our ground and assets that others clubs do. We have established ourselves in the FL which is a huge achievement. Time will tell but its unsubstantiated, just rumour mill as things stand.

Yes that is correct indeed, and I'd certainly agree that being able to establish ourselves in the Football League after the initial cash flow dried up is without question an achievement worth being proud about. I'm only just thinking that the club would have responded in some way by now if nothing was going on but it could just be how things are done so don't take my word for granted.

Not owning the ground should be a life saver in any takeover. Means we shouldn’t be vulnerable to opportunists who just want the land the ground sits on

I don't know if it is still applies, but back in the day there was a covenant in place - I believe from when the ownership was originally gifted to the Local Authority by British Land - restricting its purpose to "Community/recreational usage"...(?)

Thad; I thought that covenant was on Town Mead hence the gym is where the ground used to be.

Jim Baker
I believe they are two separate matters. It is almost certainly the case at West Green Jim, as a condition of the change of use.
The Borough Council were given the land at Broadfield from British Land, who were setup as a vehicle responsible for managing the surplus assets from when the Commission for New Towns ceased existence.
As an aside, the original Docklands development was initially funded from those same surpluses...!
I've sensed for a while now that Mr Eren may be seeking an exit (see PV thread). The 'Crawley Family' broadcasts faded out some time ago and some things like transfers seem to be fairly random. Losing Kelly and Joe Comper was a step backwards and comments JY has made indicate his frustration at some of the decisions.
On the other hand I tip my hat to ZE, putting in £1m a year of his cash to just stand still right through the pandemic without depending on debt, bail outs etc. That is serious money and many clubs would love an owner who does that without drama and noise. So it's his right to do it his way.
On balance owners like managers have a limited life span - it proved the same with the Dulys, Majeeds, Prospect Estates, PH and now Ziya Eren. The club probably needs new energy and direction. Let's see.
Not sure covenants carry much weight nowadays, our area has covenants that state no houses have on them caravans, trade vehicles, boundary walls etc but these seem to be run roughshod on a regular basis.

The signs are there I think even when you look around the ground. I've noticed some of the toilet ceilings have holes in them and there are posters of players advertising 2019's kit still on display around the east side of the south terrace. Parts of the stadium badly need renovating and I hope soon too that if we're to get a lot more investment as a result of an ownership change that we'll also finally see a permanent structure in place at the east end.
Also the shop doesn't seem to have much stock in which is a shame as I think the club could be missing out on a lot of revenue if they were to create more merchandise to sell
But Shirley, the council own the ground so shouldn't they be responsible for general renovations ?
Its not like our Council are short of money either last time I heard but happy to be corrected on that point. Arguably the Council should give more of a damn about the stadium because the only other place that’s of interest is the airport. Town Centre, despite their attempt to renovate it is absolutely dire.
