That's a decent result. We are in 12th place. That's where we will probably stay due to an 8-point gap above us and a 4-point gap below. Crawley - practising self isolation.
Great first half, poor second half, but we did just about enough in the end to see out a 2-1 win. Ferry superb out wide, back and forward all game defending and attacking in both boxes. First half we controlled the game and we took advantage of being on top this tube with goal simple well worked goals. Second half Newport came into the game more and a poor goal gave them a route back into the game with the defence tried to play offside or something and they played the ball in behind and across to pull one back. From there Newport put us under pressure with many, many balls into the box, but we defended well and just about saw it out in the end.
Well it was as good a first 30 minutes as we’ve played this season but it was also, by all accounts, the worst they’ve played too…I think it would be naive to see beyond anything other than that.
For 60 mins Newport were miles better than us and the last half hour was complete one direction and it was last ditch at best.
Positives were Ludwig was immense although Newport did all they could to play to his strengths for most of the game! Will Ferry was MoM by a mile. Morris was safe and pulled off a couple of great saves. Nadesan took his goal well. Lynch was solid.
Negatives, that central midfield was as sterile as I can bring myself to watch. Nicholls didn’t look interested and barely made a worthwhile contribution (not been the same since injury) . Kwesi has picked up an injury.
Great three points but for me it masked a lot of issues.

I don’t think it’s fair to say Nichols wasn’t interested, not his best game at all by any standards, he seemed very casual at times, but he still gave some nice touches going forward and contributed
Unfortunately 3 points out of 15 against the bottom three was the achilles heel.
I see Scunthorpe went down today after 72 years in the league. Painful. Hopefully their fans will pick themselves up and look forward to the delights of Woking and Bromley next season.

That’s kind of what I meant. He seemed casual and that to me made it look uninterested, that’s all.
Can't disagree with what anyone says about Ferry, wonder if our new status may attract him back here next season? Think he's been very good for us but he's miles away from Southampton squad and probably a Champ loan too. We do need an upgrade or two in midfield to push on to top 7. But we are a couple of wins away I reckon from back-to-back top-half finishes, which will quite a feather in Yems' cap given what the new owners have said about his budget.
I was at Dorking today so didn't see the game, but the relief I felt when I saw the full time graphic on the Twitter feed was so great. Believe that's 4 wins in 5 matches now?
Think we only need 5 more points to better our total from last season
In his post match interview Yems seemed very confident of having been given the ok to get in some new signings so it could be an exciting close season.
