For the game Tuesday, I predict lots of chants about us being racists. Couldn’t be timed worse after the stoppage in the Sutton game at our place. 🤦‍♂️
I’m still looking forward to the evening as I only go to local away games and would like to see a spirited response from the team. As mentioned before, 1 point sees us equal our best points since coming back down from LG1
I think will be a great evening out for the fans but alas I can't imagine a worst preparation to win a game of football so reluctantly I see the Orcs overpowering us with one of their many long balls and rugby style battering charges, 2-0
I think for those going to the game it is very important that we get behind the players and Lewis Young and try our best to encourage them on to win, it's likely they will have been affected by the recent developments as much, if not more so, than we have and we need to try our best to support them through what is a really tough time.
As for the match itself, I am going to be optimistic and say we will get something from this game, Sutton had a bad defeat on Saturday and there is way more pressure on them than us. So 1-1, with Nichols to get our goal
An issue no one seems to have mentioned is very shortly someone is going to have to make decisions on those players out of contract…..there has to be a retain / release list.
On that list is :-
Tom Nicholls Jordan Tunnicliffe Ashley Nadesan Mark Marshall Archie Davies Tyler Frost Taylor Seymour
My understanding is if they aren’t offered a new contract by mid May they are able to leave for free (even if compensation is due).
On top of that, Isaac Hutchinson is out of contract at Derby this summer and would be available for free but is unlikely to hang around waiting for an offer once his loan expires on 31st May, and we would miss out on any possibility there may have been of keeping him. Same can be said of Will Ferry but he has another year on his Southampton contract so it’s unlikely we’d keep him anyway unless a further loan happened at a later date.
This could all go horribly wrong. I guess JY wouldve handled/had big say in this but if still suspended, who makes that decision and if it goes against JY, then JY returns.
I would imagine that Lewis Young would now be mainly responsible for deciding which players to keep and who to move on seeing that he is effectively the caretaker manager and I'd imagine will be until the end of the season

Unfortunately that has disaster written all over it. Unless of course Lewis is in line to take over permanently should that situation arise.
If he’s not, then imagine this scenario…..he offers new contracts to (hypothetically of course) Archie Davis, Sam Matthews, Mark Marshall, Tyler Frost, Ashley Nadesan and keeps Isaac Hutchinson…..then in June a new external appointment is made and the wiggle room in terms of budget and sqaud size leaves him unable to build his own squad?

The new owners have hinted that we will have one of the biggest playing budgets in L2 next season, so I'm sure there will be enough 'wiggle room' for any new manager - or a returning JY - to sign some new players. If Lewis Young has to call the shots until the end of the season, I'm sure he is talking to Yems about which players to retain/release for next season. I'm not sure why you see this as a disaster......

I’m not sure why you can’t see, a new manager being lumbered with 5 players he doesn’t want, along with potentially 3/4 of the previous 10 just signed, NOT being a problem!!!
Squad morale is never great when too many players are out of favour and can’t be moved on.
It may be a big budget but 10 players you don’t need or want all on new contracts all eat into a wage budget that still has to comply with % of turnover…..which let’s be honest isnt going to change dramatically, new owners or not!!

To be honest, the John Yems situation is far far worse. It's common at clubs for the board or a member of the coaching staff to deal with out of contract players if a manager leaves at the end of the season. The idea of Lewis Young maybe sorting out contracts etc would be just normal business compared to dealing with the allegations against John Yems and I'd hope the club will be focusing a lot on the investigation and cooperating with the separate FA inquiry too
