At the fans forum recently, Eben appeared to be your typical geeky IT nerd. Very quietly spoken, and didn't seem comfortable as he didn't have a computer screen in front of him. He was probably wondering 'what the hell has Preston got me into this time?"
Seemed like a nice guy though. Could well be Eben is the brains behind WAGMI, and Preston is the people-person. Preston is very laid-back, but seems a decent sort. And as they put £2M into our club right from the off, I don't care how Preston dresses tbh.
Betsy is a good appointment as manager, they have reduced season-ticket prices......they are doing ok so far.
He put £2m in? For all I care he can spell *hit with a z for that kind of money.
I think they've actually put much more than that in. And you are right, it gives them the right to have their vision implemented. It needs to be judged on how we feel about it when it's in place, not on scare stories about it whipped up on here or anywhere else

Well as I recall from the forum it wasn't really "£2m into the club". It was guarantees given to the FL covering costs for a period of time. In terms of the club's budget and cashflow it wouldn't make any difference.

Hmm, did they not say they 'put 2 million into the club'. Maybe one for investigator thad as I don't think anyone thinks putting 2 million into the club means making a guarantee to pass the EFL fit and proper persons test.

Well at the forum it was clarified that they had placed guarantees with the EFL. Maybe there has been cashflow support too but £2m? For what?
In one of the interviews Preston did right at the start he said he had to prove wagmi had the budget to keep the team running at its current level for two seasons.
There was then mention of £2 million as Ziya was contributing £1 million per season.
That money has not been invested. It has been earmarked for future use.
Think the phrase was "overcapitaized" (with a zee) in response to FA requests. In these instances the FA would usually request a bond be in place, as a guarantee of funds to an agreed level for a specified period... the equivalent of there being a deposit held by the FA.
Some may even recall the FA made the Majeeds agree to a bond, alongside one of the many points deductions we experienced.
WAGMI ownership is confusing insofar as it has standard - private & corporate - investors, but is also consortia of online people with influence
Even their own press release (December 2021), is not clear which is which: Alongside Preston, Ebeneezer & Gary Veee... "the ownership group also includes Universal Music Group executive Celine Joshua, NFT collectors The Khalili Brothers, social media influencers Bryce Hall and Caspar Lee, and even NFT collector Cozomo de' Medici, as well as Aave co-founder Jordan Gustave and Coinbase Senior Director of Product David Farmer. Tiger Global, Slow Ventures, and Courtside Ventures have also pitched in funding"...
...only the last three sound like bona fide venture capital investors... however, their official podcast from when KB was announced, was hosted by Hunter Orell, who also claims online to be part of "WAGMI Utd"... so some more clarity needed there...(?)
