So quite a few thought if the fans were given a say, they would just vote for a striker every time come what may? Ok then 😀
It’s obviously the right decision. We’ve signed a few good young exciting defenders, a keeper who will challenge Morris and the best striker in League 2.
With Powell out, midfielder is clearly where we need more quality.
Perhaps the fans can be trusted with a few more decisions regarding club direction
This is a horrible idea in my opinion. I’m not against fan involvement in the running of the club but a vote to add one more quality player wtf. If we sign two midfielders before start of season how does that make the player that’s not the quality player? We should be aiming to only sign quality. We already have the best keeper in the league, we’ve added the leagues top scorer to the good selection of strikers we already had and we have 10 centre backs. The manager should have Identified the areas we need to add quality to and sign them asap, not wait for a poll decision and risk losing our targets. If the poll had said another striker would that mean we’d lose out on having the quality we needed in midfield for the season?

It's great engagement stuff but in practice of course the manager will have identified the positions he wants to fill and a short list of players he wants to fill them.
If we sign a midfielder soon then the spin will be will did it.
If we don't sign a midfielder soon the story will be we are looking for the right player. Eventually all clubs sign midfielders so rinse and repeat.

You've absolutely every right to feel the way you do.
But let's try and look at this more positively. You say you are not against fan involvement in the club, so what kind of things would you trust the fans to have a say on?
Remember the votes won't just be about playing side matters, it could be anything. What would you want a say on going forward?

Like we had a vote on the new scoreboard I thought that was a good idea and something that’s really added to the match day experience. Although they have a lot more breaks in play the American sports are good at being about the whole experience of going to a game with the catering, entertainment and merchandise. With us now being the Internets Team the majority of Crawley fans going forward are going to be following from home so not going to be too bothered about the match day experience. I guess my main issue was the term one more ‘quality’ signing. Also, as has been mentioned before I’m sure they had a good idea from previous fan feedback/comments that a midfielder would have been the choice.
