Still has a strong pre-season game about it. Hearts are physically string and look very well organised. Took their goals well.
We are keeping possession well but are deathly slow. Side, side back, allowing Heartsto reciver their shape. As a result we have had very few chances and nothing down the wings. Tony Craig seems to playing left wing!
It took us a while to settle but we have played some nice football - just need a bit more awareness at the back and a bit of cutting edge up front.
Balagizi looks very good. He took a while to settle and stop giving the ball away but he looks a decent player. Jack Payne working away in the middle, as you would expect and Kwesi doing a decent job up front. Some nice touches from Tom but really we don't look like scoring.
Second half and what could be numerous changes coming up.
So a fascinating first half watching our new playing style being worked on against really tough, good opponents. I always assumed that last season we were a balanced team, possession football on occasions and direct when needed. The Hearts commentators read out some interesting stats though that compared with the rest of League 2 we were a low-possession counterattacking team. Certainly you can see a big contrast now with possession really the centrepiece of our game.
I thought we did ok overall, Hearts the better team for sure but some good signs we were making them work hard. Wouldn’t be surprised if we edged the passing stats. Lots to be worked on, the main thing getting that link between midfield possession and working our forwards into shooting chances. Maybe a sign that the player we really lack is that creative guy in advanced midfield

Tony Craig seems to playing left wing! !
We are doing that thing a lot of Premiership teams do of splitting the 3 centre backs really wide, so Craig is indeed hugging the touchline a lot, to get the wing backs much higher up the pitch. Will take a lot of getting used to for the players and us watching
Decent game so far. You boys have improved a lot since I watched you play Mansfield Town back in 2017/8 ish. Enjoyed my day out at that one, and enjoyed the abuse of Steve Evans.
The Red Zone was a good laugh. Hope those at the game are equally enjoying Edinburgh and Tynecastle.
