Has Preston picked the members of the Fan Council in the hope they will rubber stamp his wishes because if anyone disagrees he can remove them. Does not fill me with confidence that they will stand up to him.
It’s a valid question. There are some decent people on the council, including the unofficial club historian, but them being appointed by the club feels a bit dubious. I mean, how can they feel it represents the whole fanbase if they haven’t met the entire fanbase, particularly having only been at the club a few months? How did they come to know who the “right” people were to appoint?

I think Reuben answers this point well. It’s not really about representing the whole fanbase, we the fans didn’t vote for them so that’s obviously impossible. What it is about is giving the owners a sounding board of some very credible and upright citizens amongst our support who will help to better guide their decision making.
Now the relevant comparison that needs to be made here is with the Ziya ownership. Is this a step forward from that? I think unquestionably it is. What groups did Ziya or Erdem engage with? No doubt some - but this is way more transparent, we have eight actual names here and an actual transparent body that we knows exists and that any of us can engage with. How could this ever be a bad thing? I think it’s the owners recognising they need to work a little bit harder to know what we think. The Americans are one step ahead of the Turks on this - and I’m someone who was generally very thankful for Mr Eren’s stewardship.
Is the CTSA being sidelined? I don’t think there is any suggestion of that, the CTSA are part of the fan council and still remain the only democratic grassroots representative group that ordinary fans can join. And I must get round to sending in my sub as they do excellent work!
I’m struggling to see a problem here, this is way more fan engagement and involvement than we’ve been used to under meritworthy but still quite hierarchical previous ownership regimes
One other thing I’d add: Crawley fans are not a huge community and so these eight people will undoubtedly be very easy to find on any match day. No need to talk over them or about them in their absence, they are all one of us, just ask them - for me that’s a respectful thing they deserve given their support for the club, we shouldn’t be imagining what they will do, they will directly tell us - just ask them!

So you're struggling to see a problem with fans unhappy about not having a vote on who represents them....maybe in Russia matey.

Can we recommend that training starts at 9am and NOT 6am for the Players. A Growing number of Top Flight Clubs are training LATER & LATER because most of the games are 3pm or 7.45pm games and that way the body clock is better adjusted for these games as opposed to getting up at 5am every day and the players are b*ggered by 4pm.
10 years ago all clubs used to train at 6am, now the growing trend is to start training at 9am because of body clock reasons above & late kick-off times. Lets hope the Fan council can mention this to the appropriate people in the club.
Liverpool, Southampton, Aston Villa & Wolves are to name just a clubs who start training alot later than they used to a few years ago. Does anyone know what time we start training each day? Also many of the Top Teams have different starting times for training during the ''Ramadan'' period. Do we? I noticed a Betsy Interview the other week was timed at 6.32am at the Training Ground. Are our PLayers already Training at this time?
Does anyone know? Is anyone bothered? Can the Fan Council look into this?

Isn't this the equivalent of "don't ever take short corners" kind of thing at the Fans Forum

I can only speak for me personally. Before I joined the fan council, I hadn't ever spoken to Preston. He just wanted someone from the CTSA to be on it and so I was chosen from the board. Preston can remove anyone of us if he so choses. I don't think he would though. However, this is why the CTSA is important as he has no control over us.

I seem to remember Joe Comper wanting to create a group to help with marketing. He wanted someone from each stand to meet once a month to talk about the match day experience etc etc. I don't remember any backlash from that. Interesting how this fan council is different

Where are you hearing that we are training at 6am? Most players have to travel over an hour to get to the ground. Some how I don't think that is the case but I can defo mention it for you
