It is of course early days but the club apparently study these stats and the stats say after a handful of games the majority of teams move up or down a few places in the pack shuffled come the last handful of games of the season only a very few climb of slide significantly. We are only out of the drop zone to non-league football thanks to only 2 get relegated. Yes its early days but its worrying. If things have not improved by the Gillingham league match at home then fans will no doubt turn again on the manager. Can Preston & co sustain that in the long term? I doubt it. ITs tough times ahead for the club and it would be great of we can all stick together but that's becoming increasingly hard in the league. As others have mentioned - what's up with Telford? Would be good if the club could clear up why he isn't starting.
I reckon Christmas is the deadline as it would give a new manager a little time to play before the transfer window closes. However, I think we have a good enough squad of players if utilised in a way that suits them. I anticipate that Betsy is learning fast and will change playing style, and I reckon we will probably end the season a little lower than last season's 12th place.
The thing is, losing becomes a habit just as much as winning!!
In his post match interview after the Fulham victory, Betsy did suggest that he found a new way of playing to actually win matches and that is how we would play in the future.
One shot on target v Rochdale suggests otherwise.
I didn't go today, so I don't know how we played. Anyone who attended, can they please give their views?

There is a poll up Paul (new thread) - lets see how much he is wanted because if we don't beat Gillingham I can see his head will roll one way or another!

"
Character, resilience" - stop taking us for fools Kevin. You are full of excuses. "Tired" FFS. "Tired". Give it a rest and do us all a favour and resign now. Thanks for trying but you are not a league two manager.

I can't help but feel if this result happened with a different manager in charge some people's reactions would not be quite as dramatic. I know it is not much of an excuse but it doesn't help too much when so many players are unavailable (for example Jayden Davis looked very good on Tuesday but he had to go off with strapping round his leg, hence was injured, and Omole went off in 1st half today too). As for Telford, I'm a bit surprised myself he's barely played since he was passed fit but maybe there is a reason behind that which we aren't aware of, I wonder if he'll start in EFL Trophy on Tuesday. Sorry to ask this question again too, but if you think Betsy is not up to the job, who would you bring in instead and why?
We've also had a huge turnover of players this summer so it was probably going to take time for it to work well, but the main annoying thing was we've seen in the two cup games that this can work, but when it comes to the league I don't know it just seems that maybe the players feel as if they are under a lot more pressure?
Same excuses from Kevin every week. Funny how injuries didn’t affect us in the cup game and soon as we lose it’s because of injuries. We might have a few defenders out but does that mean we can hardly muster a shot on target most games? Forget getting 40 points, we will struggle to get 40 shots under Kev! I think anyone at the game will agree that was a shocking performance where we were completely outplayed by a team that had 0 points and had struggled to compete in any of their games this season. The defenders injured haven’t been performing anyway so what are the players we are massively missing that makes us so poor as an attacking threat?
Telford was injured but got back fit and Betsy prefers Nichols and Nadersan up front. Whether Telford is 100% match fit I doubt though.
This is what I mean by getting everyone fit and then making some hard choices. Do we start Telford and Bremang over Nichols and Nadersan? When Lynch is back fit does he start? Whose place does he take. When Balcomb is fit again do we drop Addai?

Nick, you are too judgemental in my view. The guy needs time and you don't want to allow him that. Steve98 asks a good question in who would we replace him with but lets face facts - Wagmi are looking to take us to a level we could never ever expect to be at - to do this will take some time and patience which you don't seem to want to provide. Give Betsy the season to prove himself and as long as we are in league 2 I for one am a happy bunny!
I watched the game today and we started ok but very quickly Rotherham got up to speed and the goal we scored was after the ball had been passed across the edge of the penalty area and luckily it came out to Powell. At half time they bought on a sub and suddenly we were under the cosh how they did not score more than the one they did was just down to bad finishing. Betsy just seem to stand there with no change of plan yes he did make some substitutions but we never really looked like scoring. one good thing we never played tippy tappy but what is worrying we don't seem to be able to play either way. There were times when we were in shooting positions but no we look for the pass and the opportunity is lost why are we scared of shooting. Some of the problem is we get near the oppositions goal and we play it so tight its easy for them to stop us having a shot. Betsy seems to be taking us down so if we don't win in the next two league games surely the new director of football who is a statistician will see the problem and get owners to act.

Give him the season! We will be relegated by then. Wait until say Christmas and the season is a write off. Act now and a new manager has at least a reasonable chance to pull things around. I judge him on results and boring tippy tappy football. Im happy to make that judgement.
At the moment I'd be very content with a better points total and finish than last season, which is still 100% achievable. Also reaching the 3rd round of the FA Cup should be an aim too (although the draw always plays a big factor in that)
Fulham did not play an academy team, just one lad up front had the academy numbers. The rest were Premier League squad players
They may have been squad players but don't kid yourself it was a PL team.
Not one of the team that started against us was in the starting XI today.
Wow good job moving goalposts here didn’t you say it was an academy team? That’s not true.
How about recognising that Brighton midweek changed all 11 (Fulham did 10) but still flattened Forest Green Rovers at their place 3-0. Premier League squad players are still miles ahead of League 2 standard so it would be great if you could stop talking down our achievement on Tuesday.
As many as five Fulham players who played against our lads were on the pitch at the final whistle against Arsenal today, and that didn’t include guys like Duffy with huge numbers of Premier League appearances

Jim Baker
Judging by his interview last Saturday, Betsy would definitely start Lynch, he singled him out as a big name we are currently missing.
Addai has the shirt and it’s probs his to lose really, consensus appears to be he was our best performer today so good for him.
I liked Corey’s post match interview and agree with him that it’s a point earned today. One of Yems’s mantras in his time here was that you start with a point and finish with one, that’s ok. That obviously applies way more to away games.
We don’t really know if Rochdale are an awful team after so few games. Bristol Rovers charged up from the nether reaches to end the season promoted as the form team. Bris fans had something like 3 wins out of 19 as their first evidence that Joey Barton was a good manager.
I don’t think Crawley fans are any less patient than Bristol Rovers fans, it’s only the minority that jump all over social media as a means of getting frustrations out. They are entitled to do that, just as the rest of us will carry on backing the manager and his players
Makes Fulham even more amazing but seriously we will get relegated out of football league at this rate. If I write 100 lines "Im Sorry John Yems" can we have him back please?
Lol you were constantly on his back last season, you’re comedy gold. Let’s get real there’s not been a manager here since this messageboard started you haven’t spent 95% of your posts tearing to shreds. Apologise to all the rest of them too while you’re on your apology tour
