For me Ransom was the best defender. Okay he lost out a few times to their forwards in the first half, but he improved as the game went on and just did the simple things like win the ball and clear it. Tony Craig has been off the boil recently and looks a yard off the pace at the moment. Maybe he needs to build his fitness up or something. Thought Balgizi had his worst game in a Crawley shirt as he struggled to make an impact, but every other time I've seen him he;s played well.

Glad Ransom got his chance to show what he’s got, he’s been great. Playing somewhat regularly for Dover appears to have given him good experience and he’s made the step up to league 2 arguably quite well.
I feel like the players are starting to get the hang of what this manager wants them to do a bit more too, which has lead to improved results in the last few games
I think it’s more the case the that results weren’t good so we have changed our style of play to not play so much tippy tappy slow possession football. We certainly look a better team when we get the ball forward quicker. Football at this level doesn’t have to be a game of chess like in the Premier League with all this possession football and both teams cancelling each other out. Compete for every ball. Get it forward quickly. Put balls into the box.
You're right in that the stuff that annoyed me a lot during the Leyton Orient game for instance (when players were just passing around the back amongst themselves very slowly) has been cut out.

I've said before on here that he seems to have good leadership skills and has played like he's got years of experience at this level. He needs to stay in the starting XI even when Lynch and Conroy are fully fit

I posted earlier that my preference for the 3 CBs would be Lynch, Ludwig and Ransom. I think Ransom looks the real deal, he has done well for us this season. No doubt playing regularly for Dover (poor sod) has given him the experience he needed to cope with the rigours of L2. No complaints so far.
I think Tobi Omole has looked decent when he's appeared, but he's got injured twice now, and it's only September. Hopefully he's not a sicknote and will be able to stay fit for longer. Conroy has disappeared off the face of the earth. What injury does he have, does anyone know? Likewise, when is Francomb back? Last I heard, he said he was close to full fitness, that was a while ago.
If you want a good read and laugh about the game last night then go to the Stockport County Yellow forum - 45 pages of it at the last count - all bemoaning the fact that they lost to us - a totally useless team - all I can say is that we have beaten them -
Great result if not a spectacular game, created and took the goals well including a gift from them. We need now to push forward from this game - now 3 away games and points are needed especially in the league.
Just one comment on Harry Ransom - when at Dover he was playing in several positions including striker at times.
I think Stockport were probably the better team until Betsy brought Powell on to steady things in midfield, we were in the game because for once we showed a clinical edge in front of goal, Dom’s bad miss aside but thankfully he made up for that a short while later. Very good game management second half, we restricted their chances very well.
I’ll reiterate my view that Stockport are a good team, richest owner in the division and can afford to offload a guy like Quigley who would get in our 18. For once Away 57 said something relevant when he said their diamond was causing us problems, blimey was he actually there? Lol If he as reading the formation off BBC Sport, just a little warning the Beeb got the order of their diamond wrong player-wise

We got beaten up badly last night and was very lucky to get a Win!
As my mother so rightly pointed out today, when we start playing the Diamond 4 in Midfield. Balagizi at the Back, Tsaroulla on the Left, Francomb or Fellows on the Left and Nicholls at the Top of the Diamond and when we get Lynch back then we will Win MOST GAMES.
But will Betsy listen to my mother. I dont think so!
Probably a tad unrealistic to expect Corey (12 senior games) to be performing at the same level as Glenn Morris (540 senior games). He needs a bit of time to establish himself.
Otherwise a decent result, with 3 points in the bag. Of course it is possible to critique everything but in reality both Stockport goals were well taken.
Hopefully it generates a bit of confidence, unbeaten in the last 5 now.
I feel Corey is performing above Glenn. Maybe Ive a short memory but I believe Corey breeds confidence. So far, Im well impressed with him.
Example in the league? Again the tippy tappy stuff is a myth we haven’t conceded that type of goal
Northampton's free kick goal was caused by us trying to pass in dangerous positions.
Betsy has changed the style a bit. He needs celebrating for that not us pretending it didn't happen.
Jim Baker
That’s a free kick and not a goal. You know teams will concede a lot of free kicks no matter how they play? In no way is it comparable to the second goal that Stockport conceded last night.
You know how I know how we’ve not conceded a “tippy tappy” goal in the league this season? Because it would be mentioned in every thread on this forum. Thin gruel for you guys, huh?

You are such a poor follower of our football but I don’t blame you because you follow our games on teletext/Ceefax not live in the ground.
We gained control of the game when we moved Balagizi from a deep lying position in the second half to a forward position. You won’t know that because you weren’t there. Bit like your mum?
