I stumbled on this earlier. It would have been a lot better if it had been on the OS but you can find it by clicking on Twitter above. he talks about the debt the club was in when they took over and how they will be looking at all aspects of the club to see how our current position can be improved. He has come across earlier than planned so that he can oversee any changes. I am sure that people will make their own interpretations of what he is saying, but he appears dedicated to find a successful club.
"Evrything is on the table" Preston agreeing that results haven't been good enough. I feel that Betsy is nearing the end with his time with us. 1 win and 6 points out of 10 games is poor in any league and as I have said before in most seasons we would be rock bottom with such a poor return at this stage, but thankfully there is 10 teams who are averaging less than a point a game which is remarkable and masks how badly we have done. A good performance and result against Stevenage could be crucial for Betsy's future.

I think if Preston has made a last minute decision to come to the game tomorrow then your last sentence is pretty much bang on
It was well known that Ziya Eren was putting in £1m a year to keep the club going. Also is it a surprise the club had debts - we had just been through a pandemic where the club's income had been turned off massively, in fact it was to ZE's credit he kept us going instead of taking the bailout money.
Also when was Crawley ever run sustainably? To my knowledge the club lost money under the ownership of Maggs, Duly, Majeed, Prospect Estates, Hayward and Eren. During that time there were two administrations and a few other difficult times.
Of course broadening/growing the club's income is important, perhaps he thought no other owners had similar ideas.....
I think if we lose to Stevenage, Betsy will be gone, that's what I read into this "coming over early" message.
I hope Betsey does not go, I'd love to see him make a success of his time here.
Have to agree. I want KB to succeed, but he's taking too long to get the team actually winning games, too long to sort out the one mile an hour pace of the football, the lack of service to the strikers, the lack of shots, never mind goals.
I think he has reached the last chance saloon sadly. Lose to Satanage and I think he's on the way out.
Very reassuring message from Preston. Good to hear the Sidemen venture is already having some positive marketing outcome. It is under-discussed on here how Wagmi's financial plan did actually work for Year 1 at least, even tho there was a lot of understandable doubts that it would - £3.5m was raised which pretty much funds the entire club for a year. The thoughts now turn to whether they can pull off that trick year after year

I’d be disappointed if the Stevenage is a ‘win or go’ game - it will be a difficult game to win under any circumstances, so the performance is more important than the result.
Of more importance I reckon is Grimsby away and then definitely Newport at home. If we can’t beat Newport, then that will be it.
Hopefully Preston coming over early is more a positive sign of support than had he decided to stay away.

They'll certainly create a rod for their own backs in future if they don't back Betsy, that would mean 3 managers in 6 months and, if that's going to be the standard, we may end the season with half a dozen by then
Unless we outplay Stevenage and really put on a show to save his skin in the 11th hour, Preston is arriving to show Betsy the way outta town? I.e. he is already one foot in the past. Thats what I read into this.

You guys talking in code!!! What is OS and what is George saying? Help an old guy out here please!
I did listen to the link and Preston came across as very sincere which I found refreshing. I do hope he doesn't panic if we have a bad result tomorrow re Betsy but do see many of you have already given up on him. I really can't see any benefit in changing at this stage as we aren't going down and this is a transition year.

Os would be the official club website.
This bit "I really can't see any benefit in changing at this stage as we aren't going down and this is a transition year" I dont see how you can be so sure we aren't going down given how poorly we've started the season. I think we have enough quality to stay up, but our points per game record so far suggests relegation is on the cards!

Thanks Alex appreciated. No doubt form so far been very poor but I think to panic this early on won't benefit us in the long term. Obviously based on pure results my position is hard to justify but I do see some green shoots in the squad that do need some time to spring up and flower which I believe will happen under Betsy given time.
