SL has given an interview to Mark Dunford re this match postponement circus and is rightly very angry about it .
Mainly for the reason i pointed out earlier on this thread re the fact that it’s badly disrupted our preparation for Saturday.
League is all that matters for me and these clowns in the EFL refereeing decision making side of things have succeeded in buggering us around big time.
He mentions the way the fans have been mucked about of course.
Looking at the prize money, we get £40k for beating Peterborough and at least £50k for each subsequent win. Far more than the Carabao Cup and reason to put our best team out when this game is finally played.
Wonder how many days crawley57 thinks the rearranged date is before the Wrexham game…
Oh surprise surprise the Wrexham game is now Postponed.
Sorry? Why “surprise surprise”? The Wrexham game has been off since Sunday afternoon.
(That’s why when you were whingeing about the Peterborough game most probably being rearranged 2.5 days before Wrexham away, I said that would make it a Sunday morning…there was a big clue there).
And can anyone tell me why this match has not been rearranged for Wed 24th Jan which would suit us?
Its simple Ferguson has more clout than we do! Wed postponement should be rearranged for a Wed not a Tues because it suits Posh better, and suits us less so!
Its Disgraceful!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh give it a rest, please. Why does it suit them better than us, it doesn’t really matter to us, given that we have no game on the 27th. Most teams play midweek matches on a Tuesday, in case you hadn’t noticed🤦♂️

JB, you really dont think it makes a difference do you? wow. the fact that Ferguson now has 3.5 days to get his players ready for their next league match after our efl trophy game and NOT 2.5 days, and we would have had an extra days rest before this efl trophy game. oh dear jb. lets put it this way jb, that day difference is the difference between Posh putting out a Strong Team (which they now will do) or a far weaker team (which they would have had the game been played on 24th jan). I thought you understood football jb? my goodness....
Below is typical EFL self-justifying bollerx, issued via a tweet/X
Regarding last night's @bsm_Trophy fixture postponement between @theposh and @crawleytown, an EFL spokesperson said:
“EFL fixture postponement protocols are in place firstly to protect participants and secondly, to ensure that matches are played on a suitable playing surface to protect the integrity of the competition.
“It remains the League’s policy to give fixtures every chance to go ahead as scheduled, even in circumstances where the weather conditions are challenging, as in the case of Wednesday afternoon and evening.
“This approach can, on occasions, lead to difficult and unpopular decisions taken at short notice, but calling games off too early in the day will also cause a significant amount of frustration amongst
Clubs and supporters.
The League further notes the comments issued publicly by the Club’s manager but maintains that an independent assessment of the surface by PGMOL, alongside consultation with Clubs, is the appropriate way to determine whether a fixture can take place or not.
“The circumstances of the postponement remain subject to review.”
There is Clearly a Difference of Opinion here, and the ones who suffered are those who travelled to the match yesterday - staff, players & fans.
These are the FACTS:-
1/ Ferguson clearly admits earlier in the week that he could do without this game 2.5 days before a very important League Fixture. 2/ Scott states he will be putting out a Strong Team earlier in the week. 3/ The Pitch Covers came off at Midday ready for the 1st Pitch Inspection, They came off again @ 2pm ready for the 2nd pitch inspection, then they remained OFF until 19.45pm. 4/ It was Sunny & 7 degrees in the morning yesterday in Peterborough. It was 4 degrees and clear at 20.30pm yesterday in Peterborough. 5/ There has been no rain for 48 hours in Peterborough. 6/ This is the 2nd time this season that a match has been called off at the POSH this season at the last minute - there excuse each time we have drainage but we have no underground heating.

I do understand football yes. That’s how I know that most - virtually all - EFL or EFL Trophy midweek matches take place on a Tuesday. It really is no big deal.
