Thanks for posting East Sussex Red Really enjoyed the watch. Scott comes across as very dedicated and committed to success for which I thank him.
I'm not sure why but I am still to feel he sees himself as one of us and that its just a job that will probably lead to another one and that's the way it is.
I'm not sure why I feel like this and don't criticise him for it. In the same way he said in the interview that building and selling players gives him a good feeling I think he sees himself and his staff the same way which in all fairness he deserves based on what he has done for us. I sense that we would miss him more than he would miss us if push came to shove but again its something I cant quantify or really explain. Lets hope I am wrong and his bond with the owners is so strong he remains her for the longer term.
I felt that way also. When Gillingham came sniffing around the rumour mill was that he was very interested. Just like with players if a position comes around at a higher level and salary he’d be mad not to take it. Especially since we don’t know if Wagmi are going to be here next season.
If SL is reacting to criticism he needs to learn to ignore. He will never please everyone but Im confident 95%+ are behind him.
I think the problem SL has with it is that he worries it will adversely affect the players - that they’ll start rushing their passes or lose confidence in the way they’re playing. You could see they looked a little confused on Monday when the boos started, yes they needed to get the ball forward, but needed someone free to pass it to.
Personally, I can see no positives to booing your own players.
Looking at the club website our media team is now a one man band - all things considered the output is still miles ahead of a lot of teams in the league imo..
Yes it used to be Sam and and Tom and now it’s just Sam. Sam loves the club. Last I recall Tom went to work for a company linked to Erdem, not sure if he still does.
He was at the game on Monday, saw him in the car park.
Can we get this Bloke every week? Would make a change from the normal 'YES MAN' interviewer.
I think that’s a “touch” unfair on our media guy
Firstly our media guy won’t be doing long in depth interviews, they will be short 3-15 minutes ones pre and post game and twice a week on many occasions, there are only so many questions he can ask on the same sort of subject (what’s your thoughts on the upcoming game, how did you feel the game went etc)
Then rather than being an independent reporter or a newspaper/radio reporter where you probably can pose more probing questions, he is employed by the club, so he is hardly going to ask questions or dig to the point of being awkward to the head coach
I think generally overall the media team do a relatively good job of the interviews and footage they show as I’m guessing again that they have a limited budget and not that of Warner Brothers!
Correct. The club media team is not going to ask grilling questions.

Without wanting to go into the whole Wagmi in or Wagmi out debacle, you make a very valid point.
I assume when Wagmi took us over, getting promotion was a priority for them but I also assume their business model assumed that there would ultimately be some profit in it for them. They like most other football owners cannot sustain losses forever.
My overriding worry is that even if we reach the holy grail of league one next year the chances of making any money are not good. Wagmi anticipated being able to use innovative ideas to get new revenue streams which for many reasons have proved unpopular with the wider fan base. Without this out of the box thinking there is a real risk we will just be a drain on the owners and they will need to turn turtle.
I am not sure how we can square this circle and am really worried that we are in danger of potentially getting a major step forward only to be unable to sustain it. If we cant, we not only lose our best players, we lose backroom staff who are any good as well.
Just watched this. Thought very good and revealing. Scott gave a lot of credit to owners with recruitment, and can understand plan to sell players if offered good price, as is one way to make profit at this level. Scott also said it gave him personal pressure in improving players and seeing them progress. Even if we don't make the playoffs this year, I feel Wagmi have done well this year, and Preston and Eben probably deserve more time to carry out their ideas.

I think it's helped a lot that they have steered clear of the gimmicks, because they did prove to be a distraction, initially. There is room for some degree of innovation, but it's probably better to first run it past people who know the game in the UK. Before, the problem was that we were regarded as a joke, and that permeated to the players.
