So who on that list do we consider first 11, who would be squad players and who could go into U23s? Just because they are not good enough for the first team does not mean we have to get rid, depends on wages and whether they can do a short term job when injuries/bans occur which some could. Wholesale changes don't work as we've seen for the last few seasons. Quite a few young players there without opportunities in a youth team/reserves to improve, next season that may change.
it all depends on the formation we play, i'd like us to play the old fashioned 442 in all honesty with one forward dropping off to link up play with the midfield
Morris New right back, McNerney, Connolly, new left back Boldewijn, Bulman, Kaby, Roberts Cox Collins
Full back has been our achilles heel for the last few seasons - Banj was never fit, Young was crap, Blackman was an accident waiting to happen and Arthur looked pretty unfit (despite reportedly being a personal trainer in his spare time, G. Smith, Emmanuel, Dunne, Scales, Donnelly were only on loan and van den Bogaert (remember him?) wasn't with us long enough. Dickson was actually the last competent full back we had.
Time to sort this out and get some quality in on two-year deals.
Luke O'Neil is available on a free and having seen him first hand on numerous occasions, would be a massive improvement on Young at right back. Failing that, Reece Wabara - released from Bolton. Even failing that, why not look at Michael Smith from Peterborough - experienced full back, ex Bristol Rovers.
As for left back, Adam Chicksen is surely better than Blackman and has decent pedigree. Another option could be Chris Hussey on loan from Sheffield United. I believe he's from the Surrey area so a move to us could well suit him - dependant on other offers on the table.
Knowing us, we'll either find someone from the 12th tier of non-league or someone who's played a handful of games in the Belgian third division and the cycle of employing poor full backs starts again.

I thought Mitch Hancox was a decent LB. Agree with the rest of it though.
Also I thought Sandro Semedo of Orient looked decent when we played them. Never gave up even in a poor team.
MORRIS YOUNG MCNERNEY CONNOLLY BLACKMAN ROBERTS BULMAN KABY ENZIO COLLINS COX
if we're going 4-4-2
Isn't that basically the team that wasn't good enough last season? Apart from Bulman for Smith?
Yes. I was just posting my first eleven based on players we have under contract, or who are considering offers. I don't know who we might sign over the summer. I could post a line up with seven of them as 'new signing' but what would be the point in that?

Almost the end of June now and there should be, surely, some announcements soon about the out of contract players, according to the old site it was Young and Clifford ooc at the end of June while Harrold, Roberts, Blackman, Tajbakhsh and Arthur had one year options
We know Young and Harrold have been given offers but the club are going to have to swing into action pretty quickly if July arrives and we've lost 7 players, I guess WF has been doing the groundwork until HK gets back in a weeks time, hopefully ......

I noticed the comment on the club site today regarding Lewis Young, "After signing a new one-year deal with the club in the summer ....", as that's never been announced I wonder how many of the other out of contract players have signed new contracts as well
