With the new signings and players who we have not taken up their contract extensions still at the club doing preseason training when will we start releasing players because at the moment we have one hell of a squad size. I can understand us letting players who we are going to release keep training with us so that they find it easier to get a new club but we should produce a list of those going.
I can't understand the logic of having dead wood at this level. I'm presuming these players will make up the spine of our under - 23 side, whenever that comes to fruition?

According to the message from ZE today there will be an announcement on the U23 setup this week
Oh the deadwood stage us rollin' over the plains With the curtains flappin' and the driver snappin' the reins A beautiful sky, a wonderful day All go away, all go away, all go away!
Lol. You don't offend me Sulton, you haven't got the skills.
clearly have me ole mucker otherwise you wouldn't rise to it, the funny thing is it wasn't about you or anyone on this forum but somehow you took exception, as Simon said or words to the same effect you had a humour bi-pass and we hope you get better soon

I really don't want to get involved in this girlie squabble, but feel compelled to make Sulton aware of the rule that you forfeit the right to play the general "nothing personal" banter card... if you reference an individual by name..!
Now either play nicely kiddies or don't play at all.
fair play Thad, however was hardly playing General more Sulton :-)
Northgate I apologise I used your 'forum name' and if you or anyone thought I was being personal I wasn't simply pointing out fact (see worst XI thread)
Just looked at the squad numbers item on the official site. Clearly, the "deadwood" is still with us. I've not seen any mention of Young and Roberts signing new contracts, but they're there, and so are Arthur, Blackman and Talbakhsh. Garnett was contracted anyway - and I'd like to see him given a chance, but what sort of "1 year options" did we have? Solely on the wish of the player as to whether or not he wants to stay? Nothing to do with the club then? Or does the club think their sporadic appearances merit another year for some reason? We have 24 pros including one loan, and (hopefully) strikers yet to sign. It's a big squad.

Perhaps HK wants to have a look at them before keeping/getting rid?

I think you're probably right Phil, but there must be a lot of pressure on the budget/wage bill. And we still are desperate for pace and goals up front. Neither Harold nor Verhaydt have the former.
