I mentioned a few weeks back that if we begin to stutter at home, paired with our inability to get anything away, then we could begin to start looking over our shoulders.
Anything less than a decent Christmas holiday period in terms of points....then start looking over your shoulders.
Seriously, what is going on?
If we were in a league where 4 teams go down I’d say yeah we should be careful, but seeing as only 2 teams go down and having seen the quality of teams in this league, I’d be very confident that there will be at least 2 teams worse than us, we’d have to really implode and I don’t think we’re that bad.

Let’s hope you’re right. Cheltenham have picked up, so have Morecambe, and Notts County must surely get it together at some stage....a month ago we were looking pretty good...I say it again... A dire holiday campaign and we could be down there.Seriously.

exactly. Its riddiculous to even think we can be relegated..impossible. WE WILL NOT BE RELEGATED. Get a grip!
Looking back on TV coverage....the penalty was soft but also clumsy by Ollie Palmer...The red card was correct..his elbow was high....The Bulman incident was inconclusive and it won't be the first time a player has fallen over his own feet...
Apart from that the ref was whistle happy and didn't let the game flow. But he didn't deserve having something thrown at him as he came off. I hope that fan is banned from any home games as I don't want to be associated with such behaviour...is anyone going to defend the so called fan..?
I was wrong Bulman didn't dive, looks a foul to me on 2nd & 3rd looks
My view as well re Palmer, footage inconclusive and looks a definite foul to me on Bulman, player is coming from behind Bulman and clearly pushes him, you can see the hand on the back.

The Ref was "whistle happy?" Totally Incompetent would be a better adjective.
After watching the highlights I agree with r51srn, Palmer should be ashamed of himself. From Palmer's reaction we all thought he had been hard done by.
Clearly a penalty as he just barged into the Northampton player and then a second time when he led with his elbow for the sending off.
Not sure about the Bulman incident but the ref was very well placed to see.
I assume a fine will be coming the clubs way now and the person who threw the bottle will get a mandatory life ban.
A poor performance. We looked like a team that had just returned from a two weeks holiday!!
Looking at the penalty, Ollie was watching the ball as it swirled around in the wind. The Northampton player made no attempt to challenge for the ball but as soon as there was contact threw himself to the ground. A soft penalty. For the sending off it is difficult to see what Ollie did, What it does show is that the linesman immediately flags as soon as their is contact he obviously saw something. You also see the referee checking his earpiece as he walks towards the incident. The Bully incident was either a penalty or free kick. A push on the back.
A bottle thrown and reports of a fight in the tunnel couldhave further repercussions. A miserable day.

Whilst the alleged fight and the possible bottle incident can in no way he condoned, to me there are positives to be drawn: town, team, together The referee was incompetent and had a slanted view of the game. Northampton came looking for "fouls" - just look at the crucifix poses displayed by their players at any point of contact Camara was booked for bringing down their chump but the assault on Bully was waved away.. The game turned into a farce because of the officials and Nortgampton's gamesmanship Regrettable as it might be, IF there was a fight I hope our boys came out on top
Totally agree re the penalty - you can see Ollie looking at the ball and not the player. Clumsy maybe but I think their player stops as though to block Ollie getting to the ball then collapses as soon as there is contact. Seen similar antics before from Curle's sides and they were at it all game although he is hardly alone in that. If the red card offence was a genuine red card then there should have been others as I saw several other players from both sides going into aerial challenges with raised arms. Maybe it was the fact that it was so soon after the penalty but it would be nice to have consistency. I don't think it was a red personally - it looked more like a meaty challenge from someone who had had a soft decision given against him but then again others may decide differently if there was to be an appeal. The incident with Bully was in the D and definitely outside the actual box. You can see a clear shove in the back by their chasing defender. It was certainly a goal scoring opportunity so why no free kick and red card? The ref wasn't that far away from it. While there is no way we can condone chucking stuff at officials I can fully understand the frustrations and frankly I don't think I ever want to see this guy ref one of our games again.

Bull's incident was in the D, hence why any dive was incomprehensible. Diving is abhorrent and not something you would associate with Dannie. However, surely, going down a stride from a potential penalty must remove any doubt The referee was quite simply a cretin

Been watching the Palmer red card incident in slow motion and if we don't appeal that decision it will be stupid. He went to win the ball and the Northampton cheat got in the way. A little harsh is an understatement, his arms were used for balance. The Bulman incident is ridiculous, pulled back, last man, what a joke.
The penalty was soft - the Northampton players didn't appeal for it. That tells you an awful lot about it. I get why the fans did. We would have
The sending off was a joke - Ollie hasn't jumped into him. And the fact Pierre winked at the WestStand following the red card says an awful lot. It was blatant cheating by him and incompetence or worse by the official
Not giving anything for the Dannie incident was because the ref was blind side. But it was a foul. That's bad play by the official as well because his positioning should be better to be able to clearly see it. Both he and the assistant are west stand side so aren't getting the 360 degree view they need.
Throwing water bottles (or whatever is wrong)
Interestingly I told the assistant referee I was going to shout cheat at him every time he ran past me. And I did for four or five minutes. I was spoken to by the stewards who had received a complaint from the 4th official.I said what was he complaining about - foul and abusive language was the reply. I pointed out there was nothing foul or abusive about my choice of words - the steward agreed because he could hear me.
But I did stop out of respect for him. I do though standby the fact I think the officials cheated us. Three big decisions. All wrong

That’s absolutely pathetic if you were pulled up for shouting ‘cheat’ if fans are no longer allowed to be passionate and shout and show their dissatisfaction with the officials and the players without EVEN swearing or being abusive then we may as well stay at home and watch tennis. How dull and sterile.
