The whole game has still left a bitter taste in my mouth, what was a game that was in the balance at half time turned out to be a farce towards the end. Let’s hope the next game isn’t ruined by terrible officiating and ridiculous play acting by the opposition.

The referee was vindictive, simple as that. Didn't like being questioned by the home fans, so decided to double down and give everything against us he could. Penalty was an absolute joke. If we'd have been awarded it for a similar incident I'd have been laughing with embarrassment at how undeserved it was.
Red card was slightly more understandable given an arm was raised, but any competent official would have seen what the Northampton lad was playing at, but he simply didn't want to. He clearly really wanted to send Palmer off.
And the Bully foul was the final straw. I'm certain if you zoomed into the ref's face as he waved that away you'd have seen a sly knowing smirk. He might as well have got his lad out and started waving it at the West Stand such was the power-crazed contempt he had for us by that point.
It was the sort of refereeing performance that should lead to immediate dismissal. He wasn't corrupt or paid off I'm sure, but he was about as unprofessional as you could wish to see, allowing his own personal dislike of us to affect every decision he made. Nothing will happen though. I can't remember the last time the EFL or FA admitted that their referees aren't practically perfect in every way. There is absolutely no accountability. We just have to lay back and accept whatever the randomer in the middle every week dishes out to us. He could score a diving header against us and there would be no repercussions.
I appreciate the 'it's a difficult job' thing, but then so is flying a plane. If a pilot crashes into the sea, people don't go "Ah fair enough, it's pretty tricky that flying lark."
We just have to move on and accept it. I actually thought we played okay yesterday in parts, especially when fighting with ten men at the end, and with a professional referee would have had at least a draw. If that *expletive deleted* ever referees one of our games again though I'll probably just walk out, and wouldn't blame the players if they did the same.
I think the last time I can remember that virtually all fans were in agreement that the officiating was terrible and cost us the game was the 3-0 loss at home against Portsmouth on sky around 6 years ago, my god we were robbed that day.

The referee that day was Darren Deadman who has since been sacked by the FA, Saturdays ref was Craig Hicks who i hope never to see again.
The penalty was soft - the Northampton players didn't appeal for it. That tells you an awful lot about it. I get why the fans did. We would have
The sending off was a joke - Ollie hasn't jumped into him. And the fact Pierre winked at the WestStand following the red card says an awful lot. It was blatant cheating by him and incompetence or worse by the official
Not giving anything for the Dannie incident was because the ref was blind side. But it was a foul. That's bad play by the official as well because his positioning should be better to be able to clearly see it. Both he and the assistant are west stand side so aren't getting the 360 degree view they need.
Throwing water bottles (or whatever is wrong)
Interestingly I told the assistant referee I was going to shout cheat at him every time he ran past me. And I did for four or five minutes. I was spoken to by the stewards who had received a complaint from the 4th official.I said what was he complaining about - foul and abusive language was the reply. I pointed out there was nothing foul or abusive about my choice of words - the steward agreed because he could hear me.
But I did stop out of respect for him. I do though standby the fact I think the officials cheated us. Three big decisions. All wrong
madness why pick on one fans there were 100s probably well over 1000 at times saying "cheat". If the little stuarts pick on the wrong person it will kick off. Massive OG for the club.

I left feeling robbed of a game of football. Certainly the second half it was no longer about the players but the officials and in particular the ref. If that ref performed like that in a game with a larger crowd there could be serious disorder. Several hundred stood up (& said a few words) at one point in the west stand. That only happens when we score. Im saying had the crowd been larger and at another ground Im sure the ref wouldve been struck with more than a bottle. You just do not expect such a terrible performance at this level. Worst in my memory EVER!
The 4th official was also part of the circus act. Too slow to act sending a new ball out. Were few times Crawley players kept looking and asking for a new ball particularly late on and when it was obviously needed as it had orbited outta the stadium.

he was the ref earlier this season when we beat Bury at home. Cant recall a ref with a red nose that day. Why did the circus come to town against Northants? Something doesnt add up.

that idiot that gave 3 red cards? I remember that game

It was only 2, but he still completely screwed us over that game.
Grandad duties meant i missed it, bet i witnessed worse behaviour more deserving of a red card.
I have seen the treatment Ollie gets every game & think he is amazing at keeping focussed and did not see any malice aforethought from him in the highlights.. next time he has my permission to launch the guys head halfway to Pease Pottage..!
We need to hunker down & develop a siege mentality, do not expect anyone to give us a hand.

I think the reason they came after me in particular is because I stand in the disabled area so can get right up close to the Officials. I don't blame the club at all - Dave came to see me after a report that a fan was being foul and abusive towards a match official from another match official. He investigated it - discovered there was no such behaviour going on and moved on. I stopped out of respect for Dave and how he's helped me in the past (tea-gate). simple really

Sounds like the best thing to do in that situation ant, makes me wonder how much experience these officials have at this level, god help them if they ever do a local derby or say a match at Milwall, they will be called much worse than a cheat, you can’t be so sensitive at this level.
While I agree the officials were poor, we shouldn't lose sight of our sides failings, GC tinkering with the side again, playing Camara right midfield when he is at his best given a free role bringing an energy and purpose we are generally lacking.Bully looked uncomfortable at left midfield and what does Poleon bring to the side, no pace, poor control does not compete for the ball something we as a side lacked, Northampton seemed to win every second ball.Greco Cox seemed to bring pace and aggression, it was he's bravery and quick pass that gave Bully he's chance.
I thought Grego-Cox did ok as well, and you’re right, did brilliantly to put Dannie through, ball was bouncing around and he did so well to make something of it.
