Well we will see come January what the score really is at Crawley and how serious our owners really are.
I have never been in favour of spending money we don't have, however if Mr Eren is serious with his talk about progressing through the leagues then we do badly need some reinforcements. As stated above relegation back to the Conference could be fatal.
If on the other hand we sell Ollie Palmer then the fishy smell will get really strong.
Let's hope we are not heading in the same direction as Kayseri Erciyesspor, according to Wiki they have been relegated 4 times in last 4 seasons and ended up withdrawing from the Turkish Amateur League.
I don't blame Cioffi, it was always a big gamble appointing someone with no management experience at all particularly as we have little experience in the boardroom either. In any case who is running the club these days?
My guess is at some Cioffi will be made the fall guy and he will be replaced by a Turkish manager.
In the meantime we must surely be overdue a 'Crawley Family' communication from the missing father. It would at least be good to hear what he thinks about 4 points out of 27 and what he is planning to do (if anything).
I agree with you Simon. I would love to hear what the plan is. There’s only one place we are heading right now,and it ain’t the championship!!! Come on Mr Eren, tell us where we are at please.

We are a selling club OP days are numbered. As for mussing smith etc what utter rubbish...he is no better or worse than what has been selected recently. Our owners arent bothered. We wont go down and just abovevdrop zone is acceptable to them. Doubt they even know we played today.

i think theres a better chance of hearing from Father Christmas!
It could be a way out for the owner if the club are relegated. If he is seeking a way to cut the cord then relegation could be an option. The last 4 or 5 years have been quite dishearting really. Its almost like the fan base has been weened off success and decent football and left with drab and uninspiring dross most of the time. On a personal level it's been a slow withdrawal from attending.I could see the decline taking over and felt less and less inclined to make the effort to go.I just can't see things improving and regretfully fully expect difficult times ahead for the football club. Would relegation be so bad for the club?Well yes, simply because I think the club wouldn't survive life outside the football league. I'd imagine our 1800 core support would hang around,Just not the owners that keep it all ticking along with the cash. Make no mistake this is the most crucial time the club has faced in years.its whole future is tied up over the next 4 months or less.
What a lovely positive thread. It's so easy to join the doom and gloom band wagon..no doubt when things turn around you will climb back into the your dark gloomy shells just waiting for the next time we hit a bad spell...what a way to live a life....!!!!
My thoughts. Firstly the manager has had an horrendous run of injuries and suspensions. Positionally he doesn't know his best back 4 which seems to change every game, he has to find the best 4/5 pretty damn quick. IMHO Bodz should not be one of them. If fit Young must play at RB, his attacking play always seems better from that position rather than from mid field Mid field wise there are not enough winners & play makers. Payne always tries 100% but his Hollywood passing rarely comes off. Bulman as usual is steady but I fear the years are catching up on him fast. Apart from them I don't rate Farncomb very much, Gamblin tries hard but again he doesn't deliver very often.
Forward wise we have Palmer and if he hadn't missed so many games would be where we are now? He is the obvious transfer target during the January window and if we sell him the club will seem to have no ambition in progressing up the league.
Camara I like, up front he runs non stop and harries the oppositions back 4. He just needs to be a bit more accurate in the shooting department. Poleon 2 weeks ago I would say he was possibly one of our worst ever signings, but in the last 2 games he has stepped up to the plate and started to score and looks half decent at last. If Palmer is sold Poleon maybe the only hope of us not sliding further down the league. I don't think that we will be relegated but we still need about 25 points to be sure. IF we do go down I doubt we will ever become a league club again, so many relegated clubs go into freefall look at Torquay & Halifax and god forbid Rushden & Diamonds. Happy New Year

Mr North, Sir. Can you please tell me what positives you have seen since the Italian took over?

Notwithstanding the little interjection from Stephen above (he is usually along to say what a great job x is doing as manager, even when we are in freefall) this is also my concern. In addition to the clubs above there are many other situations like Charlton, Orient, Sunderland etc where the club has suffered as a result of invisible owners. Billericay are the latest in this situation.
I'm afraid in over a year of having the CTSA Supporter Rep we have never managed to meet Mr Eren, nor is he easy to find at games. For me this raises a number of questions.
1. What are Mr Eren's real aims and ambitions for Crawley Town? Is he serious about the Championship in 8 years line? If so it hasn't really started well. Last May (2017) he was saying we had "the core ready to start the new season"....when will we see the results of this?
2. How does he intend to get us to that level? What is the source of Mr Eren's money? How sustainable is it?
3. Why doesn't he go to games any more? I'm told the Northampton game was his only home league 'appearance' this season.
4. Why has his Turkish team done so spectacularly badly - remember when he bought Crawley he made a big thing of them being a "successful" team and this is how he gained "experience and knowledge of running a football club". A successful team with 4 relegations in 4 years and unable to fulfill fixtures? And some other 'interesting' claims.
5. Who is running the football side of Crawley Town? The owner who is never there? The Director of Football who was a marketing man at Corals? The manager who has never managed before?
6. Who are the other hangers on at Crawley Town? Erdem Konyar - former agent who has no role? Koray Duman - describes himself on twitter as a "proud director of Crawley Town"...but isn't? Emre Eren/Nuhkan Ruzgar - apparently appointed directors earlier in the year, but appointments never finalised at Companies House months later? What is happening here and what football skills and knowledge do they bring to the table.
7. What resources will be made available to Cioffi in the transfer window which starts next week to keep us in this league? Can Mr Eren confirm we are buyers not sellers?
8. What is happening with the U23 side being run by Abdul Qayyum Shakoor and 3 coaches (Charles, Smith, Marqueshi)? When will we be able to see them play or even see something on the website? By the way if as reported Shakoor "identified" Brian Galach then it is worrying, I saw him a couple of times at Burgess Hill, he isn't even Rymans standard.
9. What does Mr Eren think of the results this season? What is he intending to do about it? Is he happy with progress under his ownership?
10. And most importantly.....is Mr Eren in this for the long term? Or is this just some play thing like it was for previous regimes?
It took Crawley Town many many years to get into the football league, if you fall out it is a mountain to climb back. Ask Wrexham, Barnet, Chesterfield, Aldershot and so on.
I wonder whether a gentleman in Hong Kong would wish to come back....things went well with his involvement.
He was very reluctant & fought back against revealing his involvement... but it was actually quite liberating for him once he did and i would say he clearly does have a level of genuine affection for the club AND the town.
I think Simon makes some excellent points. World economic events have certainly raised enough issues to make us a lower priority to Mr. Eren.
Our problem on the pitch is that we let other teams out muscle us.. we need to develop or sign a bit of nastiness, be less open, prepared to dig in & scrap for the points needed to ensure safety.

as regulars will know Simon and I have had many dissagreements but the arguments are reasonable. If you dont agree put your own argument forward.
Oh so much pain at Christmas to be seen from reading this thread. Everybody is suffering and worried especially if Palmer is off.I even heard the West Stand start a song against Carlisle which is unheard of - times must be tough! Those with heads in the sand (RRR reminds me of Teresa May with her very small choice of election answers to questions when he says 'we are not going down' and probably had Macclesfield in mind when he first said it but they are catching up fast ) and those who feel relegation is our fate are joined together in a worry for the club as we approach a key window where we need to add a striker and not lose one. We need to face up to tough times ahead, get behind the team, the manager and the board and get through to the end of the season as a league club. Whinging wont help and maybe we should take a leaf from RRR's book and all be a little less pessimistic and for those of us who are old enough, remember how far we have come since the old Southern League days.

Great post which only highlights and strengthens what a lot of the fans I know are thinking? In my opinion, Mr Eren has obviously lost interest and/or has more important things to worry about. I’m genuinely worried that, as others have said, the club on and off the pitch is in free fall, I really hope I’m proved wrong?
