Notwithstanding the little interjection from Stephen above (he is usually along to say what a great job x is doing as manager, even when we are in freefall) this is also my concern. In addition to the clubs above there are many other situations like Charlton, Orient, Sunderland etc where the club has suffered as a result of invisible owners. Billericay are the latest in this situation.
I'm afraid in over a year of having the CTSA Supporter Rep we have never managed to meet Mr Eren, nor is he easy to find at games. For me this raises a number of questions.
1. What are Mr Eren's real aims and ambitions for Crawley Town? Is he serious about the Championship in 8 years line? If so it hasn't really started well. Last May (2017) he was saying we had "the core ready to start the new season"....when will we see the results of this?
2. How does he intend to get us to that level? What is the source of Mr Eren's money? How sustainable is it?
3. Why doesn't he go to games any more? I'm told the Northampton game was his only home league 'appearance' this season.
4. Why has his Turkish team done so spectacularly badly - remember when he bought Crawley he made a big thing of them being a "successful" team and this is how he gained "experience and knowledge of running a football club". A successful team with 4 relegations in 4 years and unable to fulfill fixtures? And some other 'interesting' claims.
5. Who is running the football side of Crawley Town? The owner who is never there? The Director of Football who was a marketing man at Corals? The manager who has never managed before?
6. Who are the other hangers on at Crawley Town? Erdem Konyar - former agent who has no role? Koray Duman - describes himself on twitter as a "proud director of Crawley Town"...but isn't? Emre Eren/Nuhkan Ruzgar - apparently appointed directors earlier in the year, but appointments never finalised at Companies House months later? What is happening here and what football skills and knowledge do they bring to the table.
7. What resources will be made available to Cioffi in the transfer window which starts next week to keep us in this league? Can Mr Eren confirm we are buyers not sellers?
8. What is happening with the U23 side being run by Abdul Qayyum Shakoor and 3 coaches (Charles, Smith, Marqueshi)? When will we be able to see them play or even see something on the website? By the way if as reported Shakoor "identified" Brian Galach then it is worrying, I saw him a couple of times at Burgess Hill, he isn't even Rymans standard.
9. What does Mr Eren think of the results this season? What is he intending to do about it? Is he happy with progress under his ownership?
10. And most importantly.....is Mr Eren in this for the long term? Or is this just some play thing like it was for previous regimes?
It took Crawley Town many many years to get into the football league, if you fall out it is a mountain to climb back. Ask Wrexham, Barnet, Chesterfield, Aldershot and so on.
Great post which only highlights and strengthens what a lot of the fans I know are thinking?
In my opinion, Mr Eren has obviously lost interest and/or has more important things to worry about. I’m genuinely worried that, as others have said, the club on and off the pitch is in free fall, I really hope I’m proved wrong?
You are correct the club has been in freefall for some time. I think it all began after relegation from league one after we looked like doing a wimbledon soaring up through each season/division.
However despite when, or even how the decline started its as clear as night follows day, this greatest club of all clubs cannot possibly in any way whatsoever return from.a relegation...but thats not the worst...it cannot sustain itself. Poor marketing players coming going lack of fan base growth etc and its obvious the club will be extinct.
Its such a very sad deeply depressing reality. End of ctfc. For that very reason we cannot allow the club to go down.
Thankfully weve mustered enough points and therefore a handful of even worse teams have saved us...but for how much longer? As fans all we can do is back the club. The owners arnt bothered maybe a replacement will keep us afloat a bit longer, sadly we no longer have the skilled Evans era of scouting so all we have is equity of league status.
As fans we must do far better. The library is an embarressment. We had better support in non league. FFS sing up and get behind the players. They may lack sufficient quality but if they are encouraged to give 100% we may hang on in there (league two) a little longer. FFS dont let the few East Standers do it all. BW and West Stand sing up!!!!
I want Lewis Young back playing asap. He was the only player hurting when we were relegated and had the bottle and guts to face the fans. He gives everything for the club. We need that attitude all around. Make him captain.
