Don't get your hopes up about this signing. I'm a Woking supporter and had the privilege of watching Lewis last season. Started the season off very well considering our poor form, scored some decent goals. However, as the season went on, Lewis's form dipped. It looked like he was worn out half the time, couldn't handle the physicality. Hardly ever seemed to play within the last few months. Has a couple of good attributes though. He's fast and good in one and one situations. I wouldn't expect fireworks from him and I highly doubt his loan will be extended.
Presumably HK knows him from Watford stiffs and Woking have effectively swapped him for Bobson.
I'm all in favour of giving him a chance but when I see Woking supporters making unfavourable comparisons to Banya and Arthur it does make me a tad nervous that we are just doing another Gregory/Saunders squad building exercise.
Why does everyone seem fixated on him being a midfielder? Surely he plays where ever the manager thinks works best for team. I'd like to see 2 up top with some pace around our new dutch unit, if this lad can finish maybe his role could be there
Another gamble. if terms loan are Watford foot most or all bills then ok but six months untested is a gamble i say we cant afford.
Isn't EVERY signing a gamble...?
Any player might actually be taking a pretty big gamble joining us, we are not the most attractive option for an aspiring player.... get real, we finished last season in the wrong end of League 2... we are not going to get Diego Costa at centre-forward with Suarez and Coutinho behind him... we are always going to cross our fingers whenever we sign anyone, but actually so are those big-spending clubs splashing their millions about...!

are these players being properly scouted with good proven scouting system in place? My long term concern is without top scouts we cannot compete higher up the leagues. Nothing really ever gets said officially on this subject.

That may actually be a fair and accurate point RR&R, whereas I felt dismissing the signing of DL as "another gamble" wasn't.. I'm sure that our resources are limited. In this instance I expect it was based on HKs knowledge of the lad at Watford just as we probably signed the lad from Newport on Feeney's recommendation.
However, as a counter-point... If you look at matters objectively, I'd say the players we have "scouted" have been more successful than the ones who were previously known to our management, Collins & Enzio versus Davey & Arthur... no contest..!

- scored a decent goal vs Torquay (7:38)
Thank you for your post, always interesting to hear from other clubs fans who have a bit of inside knowledge having seen him play.
Can't see I'm too enthused after reading your post!
That said, I'm hoping he can turn out to be a good player and from that goal I can see he has a lot of pace which can come in handy.
