The best Referee we have had for ages. Tried to let the game flow and sensibly, kept his cards in his pocket
Excellent, He even let both teams get their tackles in. Thought they appreciated it too and gave us a competitive - but clean - open game as a consequence.

Yes, nice to see a ref who hasn't attended the Deadman school where every foul has to result in a booking.
You cant walk past a win but it felt very fortunate. The team lacks an identity and pattern..which it desperately needs.
I obviously have a vested interest in this but I'm not sure I'd agree that's it felt very fortunate. There have been games this season when Morris has kept us in it with save after save but that wasn't the case yesterday, or Tuesday for that matter. For all Cheltenham's dominance of possession according to the BBC stats, it was only in the last 20 minutes when Broom was sweeping past us on our left that they looked really threatening and if Conns hadn't blocked Tozer's header then Francomb was there waiting to head it out. With better finishing we could have been 2 or 3 goals clear by that stage anyway. I agree about a pattern and style although one thing that is emerging is a team that is rolling it's sleeves up and battling. Cioffi may have thought he knew about Lge 2 but it may have taken until now for the reality to become clear. I thought we did try to mix the play up a bit more yesterday but then I think we often do better against teams who try to play football rather than the niggly sides like Northampton.
"Crawleys time wasting at the corner flag was a disgrace near the end of the game. Worst i've seen in a long time"
"Not that we'd do exactly the same when 1-0 up to waste a few seconds. And if we didn't accusations of non-league/ naivety would be flying"
You should know by now that we are the only team in the football league that indulges in time wasting and it's all down to Steve Evans even though he left us years ago.

Yes the referee was excellent, just what I like to see, just let the game flow so we could enjoy watching a competitive game rather than stop start stop start free kick after free kick which is frustrating to watch.

Can we have that ref every week please? Best one we've had for aeons. Let the game flow, wasn't card happy, and actually understood that there were two teams out there trying to play football, so let them get on with it. Only stopped play when it was absolutely necessary. Top marks.
Palmer's running down the clock corner routine is the funniest thing I've seen for ages. Cheltenham's no. 26 I thought was going to spontaneously combust, he was so angry with it
Yesterday was a strange one, thought we played well in parts, especially at the start of the 2nd half. Having Palmer back does make such a difference not only is his hold up play some of these we've ever had but he demands more of the other forwards during the game. But he does look like a walking red card wouldn't shock me if he's sent off again this season. Polen is clearly in form, just a shame he really can't finish, he was good again yesterday. Camara had a shocker yesterday especially for a spell in the 2nd half where all he could do was give the ball away. Conns has been decent the last few games and about time as well, he hasn't been good all season really. Very surprised at Francomb as well considering he has bene our worst player all season, he's had 2 solid games in a row now. Maguire needs to be starting at left back and Doherty shouldn't even be on the bench, which is s shame cos he was solid last season. All in all with players coming back from injuries and Vincent coming back from the dead? Where is he, hopefully we can put a run together starting at Stevenage. Hopefully over 300 reds next week?
Francomb our worst player are you for real? Doherty is a good player still learning his trade so your comments are very harsh
George Francomb has had a decent season if unspectacular and Doherty has been like the hokey cokey in and out the side without a decent run in recent months, how can he be expected to perform at the the top of his game when he cant get a run of games, look at Sesey as an example of this a few games under his belt and he has come on leaps and bounds
The players who have under performed have been found out and are not even bench warmers luckily Morais should be back in a couple of weeks so that will give us another option with Smith returning sometime in March hopefully
A battling well earned 3 points. My thoughts, ok Morris was'nt called upon too often but his cross catching / punching was excellent. A really accomplished goalkeeping display. Sesay was steady throughout and will develop into a good player. Doherty, brilliant against Colchester but looked like a lost soul on Saturday, maybe he was playing a unfamiliar midfield role? Francombe a player that has up to now has unimpressed me but the last 2 games has become a steady player. Payne another one that has come on leaps and bounds, relishes the captaincy and was my MoM on Saturday Conns & Palmer love them both but they constantly are in danger of a red card, passion is fantastic but need to be careful as our squad is low on numbers. Great to see Lewis back after injury, a very steady player and capable of a match winning cross. Spoke to him over the new year and what a thoroughly decent bloke, much nicer than his brother Finally if Poleon is the answer, what is the question?
