Well when DD left we were 19th, despite, all the changes we are now 17th, hardly a massive change.
But it's the style of football that has changed. Under both Dermot and Kewell we were all about possession. But we barely created any chances. I don't think that's a fair accusation to level at Gab. We do create more chances than we have done. And speaking personally I've enjoyed the football a hell of a lot more this season than last and last season to the season before.
So progress has been made although I accept that's not reflected totally in the league position

But at the end of the day it's also results and the league position that matters in the final reckoning.
I always said that trying to play the Kewell way at Crawley didn't work, it's like trying to play Barcelona football with Billericay players. Plus whilst we have done OK with goalscorers (Collins, Palmer etc) our achilles heel was we couldn't defend under Drummy and we can't defend now.
Having said all that I don't think the continual changes have helped and if we had stuck with DD I don't think we would be any worse off.

So nice was Drummy, his allegiances to his old Chelsiki Academy players that he deemed good enough to play EFL Football, proved to be his downfall.
I am certain that had we stuck with Him, then in all honesty, we wouldn’t be in the EFL now.
The last 2 games have been indicative of our season. Reasonable going forward, chances created but the odd mistake. I think the main missing ingredients are finishing and a bit of LUCK. Poleon e.g. should have had 4 last Saturday, and a hatrick against Carlisle. I agree we're better to watch now, and from a previous post average until the end of the season will do me. Also, as a smaller team, we're not going to get in all the players we'd like. Rose e.g. probably chose Swindon over us which from his point of view is a reasonable footballing decision. Imho, we've got to try and keep Gaby and Nathan for at least the rest of the year. We need some stability, and they need the chance to try and build their own team.

We are missing quality. Only teams that are playing above league two std can get promoted. We can go down as we play better than non league but do not have quality to take us up. If we were to choose two players in a squad if sufficient quality to already play league one i tjonk many of us would choose what we already have at either end of pitch...a quality goalscorer and top notch keeper. But we need a squad with far more of that quality.
