a 4 year ban is completely unjust I hope he can fight this and get it at least halved which would have been far more fair. by the FA doing they have upped his chances of falling through the cracks and potentially ruining what is left of his life

As someone who worked in an absolute zero alcohol and drugs occupation I have no sympathy for Yorwerth whatsoever, the rules are very simple and laid out precisely for you to follow, if you wish to ignore them then that's up to you and you pay the penalty when caught
As someone who has seen a family member die in his early 40s courtesy of the damage caused by cocaine use, I hope that Yorwerth finds it in himself to fight his addiction(s), the tennis player Dan Evans is an example he should try to copy and if he does I have no doubt that the length of his ban will be reconsidered in time, help and advice is freely available out there it just requires the addict to want to use that help
It’s a sad story and I’m not condoning taking drugs but I think Josh has been unlucky. In my job I was always likely to have a random drugs and alcohol test and I know that cannabis stays in your system for a month but bizarrely cocaine is only in your system for 48 hours. I think that 4 years is excessive and it’s his career ruined especially as cocaine isn’t performance enhancing.

When it comes to taking cocaine and then getting caught out missing a drugs test, unlucky isn't the word that comes to my mind.
Careless or stupid maybe.
4 years is a long time, but all professional footballers are made aware of the rules.

But would the authorities get away with banning a PL "star" for 4 years?!

My guess is yes. The Rio Ferdinand case caused such a scene that I don't think they would get away with not doing it.
I find it hard to believe a Premier League player would get a 4 year ban, especially if it was a top player for one of the big 6, they’d get off somehow. I’m not condoning what Yorwerth did, but feel he’s being made an example of in a big way.
