I see the Argus is running a story today about ZE being willing to sell the club and that there is 'interest in China', the Argus adds "Eren would cover most of his outlay should he receive an offer in the region of £7m, but that asking price is seen by experts as optimistic"
I can't believe that he's coughed up £7m, that seems rather OTT, but the original purchase price would be included, I wonder what that purchase price was .... whatever it was if £7m is correct then it just goes to show how bloody ungrateful the people are who slag ZE off are

If memory serves me right then I seem to remember he got the club for £1 (one pound) because he also removed all of the club debts when he joined

Well it was stated on the handout at the forum that he had donated £3.25m in the seasons he has owned the club, so that might suggest a purchase price of +/- £3.75m? Or perhaps the Argus have their numbers wrong.
As for being ungrateful, well not everything is about money. The bottom line is we have gone backwards in both league and cups under ZE despite a massively increased/top 10 budget, aims of Championship in 8 years, them being football people with a track record in Turkey etc.
Anyway who knows? The opening line of the Argus piece is "ZE is willing to sell Crawley" whereas the club statement the other day said "the club is not for sale".
Time will tell I guess. Perhaps ZE has just realised that if £1m a season is the price of standing still/going backwards his appetite to keep ploughing cash in is not what he thought when he started. Particularly when faced with awkward questions about key staff and their Owner & Director Test status.
Its all paper talk and supposition at the moment - its like a dog with a bone - anything for a news story - personally I don't take any credence until it actually happens and the club makes a full statement - in the meantime I will continue to support the club as it is.
What worries me is that interest free loan around 800k, are there any implications for the club due to that?
In the accounts it says that this won’t be repaid until such time the club is in a position to afford it. So basically not until the club gets sold, and any new owners will have to pay that off

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what is agreed in any sale. Perhaps it will get written off.
Talk of sale would explain the owners lack of interest in the club.
Dunno if you follow current global economic & political events... But it is fair to say that anyone of significance in the Turkish Steel sector, have plenty of genuinely urgent issues to occupy their attention.

I've just got the nod that it isn't a Chinese buyer, it's actually Elon Musk and the fire at the Tesla showroom a couple of days ago was him practicing burning his money as a football club owner
