Everyone needs to take a deep breath, take a step back and calm down.
One freak result and we see hysterical reactions. It doesn't mean we have become a bad team overnight, it's football, it happens, we move on and go again next week.
It's also time to lay off Stephen. Yet again, veiled insults, mocking comments and references to the fans' forum. It's time to move on, surely.
There's nothing wrong with staying positive, we could do with a bit more of it on here.
By the way what an inspirational signing Ibrahim Meite was.
Signed on 1st Feb, 8 minutes last week,6 minutes today and now a suspension.
Cracking stuff.
Sadly he’s just proving most people right, the response was very underwhelming when we signed him permanently and he’s done nothing to change that, just another player in a long line of duds to have played for us.
Actually sick of some of the stuff I’ve seen from some fans this season about players, it was only the Tuesday I was watching Josh Payne be cheered by some of our fans for being substituted. Fair enough we all have an opinion and can become frustrated and sometimes people aren’t at their best, but these young men have feelings just like us. Your comment isn’t that bad as I’ve seen far worse, but it just highlights the issue. Nobody likes feeling like they aren’t good enough and with suicide being one of the biggest killers in men I think we all need to be more mindful of what we say as it does impact people. End of rant!
Many thanks for your comments Sons FC...I often enjoy reading your comments. 😀
I wasn't at the game today which in many ways I regret as I think it's important to support your team through thick and thin. The last few games I have seen we have started to look very solid at the back. But today appears to of been a very bad day at the office. We all have them and it's important how we bounce back on Saturday against Lincoln.

Obviously it all went horribly wrong but in perspective it wont change anything we were never going up or down for many many weeks now. At the end of the season it 'wont matter'. In fact its to be expected we are inconsistent. Might beat Lincoln now? Or lose 8-0

Quite true. I always thought players developed a thick skin and shrugged off the cat calls, but Joe trudging towards the tunnel in the rain by himself at the end of the match was an image I'll remember for a while.

Glad to see someone likeminded, I’m sure we’re all guilty of thinking players are thick skinned but I’m sure the majority of the lads are reflecting very hard after today’s defeat
Well Payne & Pooch got stick for their form on Tuesday, they did not start today. People have asked to see German & Meite on the pitch, they had their chance today...
...so if our Manager is guilty of anything, it might just be paying too much attention to our opinions.!
Yes, baiting an individual poster can get tiresome, but if they make a big deal about speaking up & being visible ahead of a fans forum, they need to take responsibility, for making a rod for their own back when they fail to deliver on the night.
Still, so-called "townmeadfaithful"... it is a lot better than offering odds of 1/100 & then skulking off when the bet is lost.
A most disappointing result. Conceding 5 goals in 11 minutes is alarming. No point dwelling on it and going into one over it, these things happen in football. Onwards and upwards to Lincoln on Saturday. We done the league double last season over eventual champions Accrington and having already won at Lincoln earlier in the season, why can’t we do likewise?

So who was it that said "Looking forward to all the lovely positive keyboard warriors discuss their thoughts at the Fans forum next month. Or will you all be busy" and "I will be there...come and introduce your self".
Yet on the day the same individual sat in the back row, said nothing and was first out the door at the end. What a missed opportunity to show some support for GC and point out what a great job he is doing.
Of course after the event our hero was back behind the keyboard...apparently "Far too many people asking nit picking questions" and suggesting we were in our "cold dark shells".
Why not just grow some and join in the debate when the opportunity is there.

Lewis Young and Joe McNerney looked pretty bothered at the end. Others not so much. Anyone know what Cioffe was saying to big Joe at the the end? Quite a lot of gesticulating.
I was one of the the 79 or so. Their first has a lot of handball, then a mistake for JMcN, own goal and iffy offside goal. Possibly. I was counting the seats in their massive stand.
Second half we just didn't really make much of an effort. Their goalie did some good saves, on another day we could she scored two early on.
I can't help re the Cioffi and Joe as didn't see that.
I agree with what you've put abput the game, up until it all went tits up I thought it was fairly even.
We went ahead and their keeper made 2 other saves from Palmer. For their first the ref missed (to me) an obvious handball in the build up but thereafter the defenders stood off.
Sesay had a defensive off day.
After their 4th, their keeper made another good save from Young.
2nd half more chaos and although after the 6th went in Crewe were still looking for more, we did at least keep trying.
The Meite sending off was him reacting to a punch(?) from a defender in their wall while we were waiting to take a free kick. The ref only saw the retaliation but I've seen much worse.
Anyway - we're 2 points ahead of where I thought we'd be when I started the releagation thread, and although our GD took a hammering, it's still better than some below us.
I still think we're staying up and 2 more points will do but we'll get more than that.
I've just watched the highlights and I'd say Crewe figured out how to get space between the centre back and the wing back on both sides and exploited it.
That doesn't explain why it happened after thirty odd minutes though and why nothing was done to rectify it at half time.
I still say there is something not right with this team though.

But isn’t that a good thing given our 10 point lead over the bottom 2?
