Safe again for another season. Very well done to everyone at the club. We can all enjoy the Notts County game on Monday that little bit better.
Relief, or celebration? I asked this when we were coming back from the Yeovil game last weekend and it is probably a bit of both.
Let's see what the close season brings - are the players who took us so close to relegation good enough, or were they unlucky throughout the season? How good are they? - are they only now showing their real potential? Was Gabby unlucky with some of the results this season, or is he really not good enough for this level?
I shall continue to give the players, management and all at the club my ongoing support.
Relief or celebration? I wouldn't say either. I didn't think we were going down, but given the budget available it's been a pretty mediocre season.
Each time we have been really pressed we have got the result, against some good teams too, but a big clear out is needed both on and off the field really.
Well done Mr Cioffi. In a season where he’s had literally everything thrown at him he has not only handled it with class bit when the chips were down the players have shown they wanted to fight for GC. Without goals in the side it is so hard to win football games and when Palmer was firing earlier in the season I thought we might have outside shot at play offs. Then came Palmers long suspension (and lack of goals after) and next 3 best sources of goals Morais, Smith and Gambin all long term injuries. We have competed in nearly every game, and losing many by 1 goal when on top. The way he sets the side up is often spot on. The future will be bright with Cioffi.
Speaking of flukes, must share a classic quote from my dear old Mum: "Those climate change protesters, have been very lucky with the weather...!"
i hope the Police continue to lock those nutters up and throw away the key. Causing untold misery on peoples lives restricting free movement and disrupting lives. A load of green nutters. I hope the weather turns to hailstorms all over them along with a hurricane to destroy their free camping.
Well done to the players on turning it around as RRR said on swallow doesn't make a summer so GC should still be departing the club along with a number of players if Hong Kong Paul does become benefactor again i would hope we have the cash for an experienced manager
An experienced manager? Like Gregory, O'Driscoll, Yates or Saunders? Remind me how those guys worked out for us again?
I say stick with Cioffi. Whatever has gone on between him and the players seems resolved. He has experienced assistants in Brewster and Rooney and now nearly a whole season managing in L2. Imho, the only way is up.
Cioffi is a young manager learning his trade. He will and has made mistakes but has shown an ability to try new things. I thought that in recent games we have tried to break quicker. Kewell had a system and would not change. Good managers are always learning. Lets give him time. He has an experienced ccoach Craig Brewster alongside to give him help. He also shows passion which has been missing in some past managers.

Saunders nearly worked a miracle on a rag bag of loans and unattached players. Yates kept us comfortably mid table on about half the budget Cioffi has. O'Driscoll never managed a game so impossible to tell.
Gregory I agree, probably the worst manager I have known at Crawley. Total clown.

Well Yates did what was asked, and O’Driscoll was an excellent appointment at the time.
Yates' hands were tied as he had zero budget, but his brand of football was truly awful. O'Driscoll might have been good, but pissed off the first chance he got (during pre season FFS) My point was, for all those calling for GC to be replaced by an experienced manager.......we've tried that before, a number of times, and it's not really worked, has it? I'm not sure why people think it's going to solve all our problems this time round.

We agree about Gregory and Saunders. I thought Deano did amazingly well in the short time he had with us, and I was hoping he would stay. Yates did ok, but the football was appalling.
