Reported bankrolling reds to tune 1 million a year (& no likely more ever increasing hence keen to sell)... rarely attends matches whats in it for him? Ok firstly lets acknowledge thanks as without club would not be in existance. Of course many others well documemted too. I offer an apology for slating the hand that feeds the mouth of the greatest football team in the World. Yes much to my 'dislike' we are a selling club...however to achieve sustainability surely league one is essential. Are we 'moments' from complete collapse? Non existance. Ive said before thats certain with relegation but yet another poor season in league two we cant sustain things much longer surely? This also highlights need for cup run. Even Sussex Snr Cup Final win helps generate interest. These are indeed worrying times if Eren wants a new toy and crazy long term contracts lock us financially in. Pre season friendly v falmer is another vital opportunity show Sx fans theres an alternative to the village peoples football. Ctfc just 'moments' from collapse?
Realistically we are in a catch 22. If you look at our 3 seasons in League 1, the crowds did not give us a such a huge revenue bump to offset the bigger wages. This is due to the constraints of the stadium that is at best low League 2/middling Conference standard and won't attract a big enough new generation of fans.
The best place we can be for the foreseeable is winning more games than losing in the top half of League 2, without substantial investment in new infrastructure. All the recent investors in the club whether Ziya Eren or Paul Hayward deserve a big hand of thanks from Crawley fans for, for the time being, staving off the natural gravity of football financing at this level that would pull us back into non-league if we were ever forced to stand on our own two feet. This is a golden age we are living through and we must all make the most of it.

When was last time we filled the ground to capacity? Play up the football pyramid play good football offer reasoable pricing and experience and the fans will come. They have elsewhere despite other neighbouring alternatives. Its very worrying times. I go back to what ive always said plough the £££ into a top scouting set up and now perhaps marketing expertise. Speculate to accumulate. How much longer can the club survive? We MUST get into schools youth football eyc essential for future growth. Im very very concerned we havnt moved far enough since Tamworth in growing the ctfc fan base. I acknowledge free/low cost kids pricing is excellent.
Spend a few hours on a Saturday in Queens Square, handing out flyers while trying to persuade a guy in a Chelsea shirt to attend a PSF later that day... when we were playing against... erm... Chelsea...

Why is it constantly doom and gloom with you even before the season has started - according to you we are minutes from oblivion, so why do we hand out two/three year contacts if there are money problems, all the teams away travel are overnight so they are fresh for the game on the following day - you may be worried, I'm definitely not and I have probably seen more worrying times than you will ever know in my 55 years of supporting the team.
We probably now have the nucleus of a very good overall young squad - who if we can keep them together could really surprise us all this season - I'm hoping so anyway. According to you we have no scouting - so the youngsters we have brought in over the last two seasons have magically appeared - and if we do manage to sell any of them for a great profit then well done the club - the club work extremely hard to want to bring success to the supporters only to be lambasted by you.
Our match-day pricing is one of the lowest in the league, we give free access to Under 12's to all league matches,
Don't you actually read the club website at all - with all the amount of work that the club do with schools -
You say that Ziya Eren is not showing his support by not turning up to matches every week as he lives and works in Turkey - what about the Owners at Man City/Man United/ Liverpool and Everton are they their every week - you don't see their supporters moaning if they are not at matches - as long as they are in contact with the club on a regular basis that's all we can ask for.
I expect a sweeping/scathing response from you - I'm to thick skinned to worry about anything you may say - as long as we have a football club in the town - no matter what division we are in I will still be supporting it.

Its realistic not all doom and gloom. I have acknowledged work club does (re-read my post and others) however the message isnt getting through im not blaming the club or anyone just stating fact and concern. Ove rthe years weve progressed to football league has the fan base improved i do not think so maybe you can factually prove me wrong. i never said we have no scouting im suggesting with the money we have we put far more into scouting. im questioning what Eren gets outta the club not questioning his attendance just stating fact he rarely at the ground. Its a concern what if he gets bored with the club?
I really cannot see why some so called supporters diss our ground,I haven't gone to too many other div 2 grounds but compared to a lot I see on Quest highlights I think ours looks just fine.I also agree the club is succeeding in communicating with the local community I see more youngsters at games than ever before and our home attendances have stayed steady despite another rocky season.

i think a conparrison of the broadfield stadium to other less establushed league clubs puts us in reasonable statue. We need an increased fan base not a sustained one to progress. So many cup exits from so many weak managers hasnt helped fill the piggy bank.
I would hope the ground is very much League Two standard or we’ve got a problem!!!😳
Sure you can make a pedantic point. Or you could try and address the main argument I was making about whether the stadium is good enough to attract enough fans to ensure life in League One is not a constant drain on finances and making our current losses look pretty good by comparison. Up to you

and there lay the question HOWEVER its a mix of things that attracts fans. Winning/good football and can get away with an average ground. The falmer village people chart 'success' doesnt help. When we were in league one how often did we need a larger capacity? Ground improvement cant be a priority at this stage and also probably if we went up at least for a season or two until we'vevsustain the climb.
I believe the ground is very low in the list of matters that need to be addressed, i certainly don't feel it is anything that stops people attending...(?)
IMHO There are far more important infrastructure issues & interesting that a training ground came out top of the shopping list when HKP asked the question. I am really on board with that idea, particularly as our recruitment policy reflects a desire to farm young talent.
I was surprised to discover our depth of youth coaching staff too & they need a proper base if we see being a nursery club as a long-term method to attain greater sustainability.
RR&R does make a valid point about off field added-value revenues. Many clubs rely on income from bar takings, hosting functions & slot machines to keep funds flowing.

I took it that Steve was suggesting the quality/size etc of our stadium was of lower league two/middle of national standard.
But we need to be careful here. Would having a shiny new 12000 all seated super arena mean that we would suddenly be attracting 7000 home fans on a regular basis? Absolutely not, and others have found out the hard way.
