Hi All. Andre Blackman is currently training with Southend and as he was with you boys in 2016/2017 I wondered if you could give us some insight into what type of a player he is, pros, cons etc?
I recall a period when half the squad took a turn at left back to avoid allowing Andre on the pitch, this operation hit rock bottom when Chris Arthur put in what i consider to be the worst performance ever by a Crawley "player".
Andre is definiteley one to avoid.
Anyway, are Southend going to take Palmer off our hands?

He's probably okay as a backup to come on and give the regular left back a rest, but make sure you're three up before it happens - just in case. There was a temperament question too as he seemed to get a few cards - not all of them yellow. He'd probably be okay as a National League or National League regional player, but although he sometimes played okay, he couldn't sustain league 2 standard, not even when we play like shit.
You had a lucky escape last year staying up with a late winner, having players of the quality of Blackman will take you to non league. One of the worst days players we’ve had in the last 10 years, awful.

Thanks for the replies folks as I appreciate them and after hearing opinions on him I pray we only let him train and not take him on the books for the coming season.
His wikipedia page makes for appalling reading. 83 League appearances in 10 years as a footballer. Why any football league club would even consider giving him a trial is beyond me.
