At the end of the day, a supporters association or group cannot or should not be a part of nor dictated to by the club.
As far as I am aware, there is only one supporters group in existence at present and that is the CTSA. Any suggestion that a supporters group has to be “united” behind the club is up to the membership of said organisation, not the club.
Majeeds or John Maggs anyone?
The thing is JB all the time any supporters group doesn't have an owners %age in the club it will always be dictated to by the club in some way or another so to hav the club on board is no bad thing
Will it???! I think you’ve got that the wrong way around. If it has no share or tie-in with the club then it is surely completely independent and therefore not dictated to. Meanwhile, this “share” in the club seems to come with this being “united” behind the club. What a supporters group thinks of how the club club is being run should be up to the members of the group, not up to the club.
As i said in my other posts it is not for me to take the Club and HKP ball away and go and play with it, it is down to them to move anything they want to move forward not me, however if either would like my help i will happily offer my services and HKP knows this.
You are probably right regarding the 1800 season ticket holders it is probably closer to 1200? you may have more knowledge on that front that me, however the core fan base must sit around 1800 and all could have joined the CTSA and gone the the AGM how many non season ticket holders pay to join the CTSA?
Raising and making everyone aware the CTSA has 20k sitting in the pot is always the first step you know that
i wasn't invited to the meeting you had with the club so would have been very hard for me to attend a closed meeting without getting in trouble.
With regards to the dogs they have won as many times each as CTFC have in preseason lol couldn't lose last month can't win for toffee this month but that greyhound racing for you generally like a lower league football club more downs than ups
We are all able to take the initiative here. And it isn't just down to the club and PH, it's down to the supporters too. Owners and benefactors are temporary (remember last time PH got bored we were relegated), supporters are permanent.
Had we all been nice chaps in the days of Majeeds and waited to do what we were told by Chas and the club then the outcome may have been different. That is why the trust was set up.
STs - I thought around 650 but I may be wrong.
People know how much money we have, it is in the accounts published every year on company register, on our website, at the AGM etc. In fact Susan Carter used to go on about it ad nauseam.
Indeed if the dogs can't win for toffee it sounds like Crawley Town FC in the cups.....
Simon, Sometimes your spite blows me alway.
Remember what happened last time PH got Bored. we got relegated. Really ?
During that relegation season I invested a fortune to try and keep the club up. Almost £2m If I recall correctly.
You try and paint me as some short term supporter but you yourself don’t attend home games anymore and prefer a non league option.
I have zero to gain by assisting CTFC. As always it just costs me money. But I don’t need to prove my love for CTFC to you as there is only about 8 of you that don’t see it.
As I said earlier - I can’t be bothered with this sniping and moaning. I thought we all had one aim - to support the football club not trying to score points off each other.

I can assure you that no spite was or is intended. However I thought it was a matter of record that budgets were significantly cut in the 2014-2015 season, which led to our relegation (despite Saunders almost performing a miracle with a rag bag of loans and unattached players)? And that people were being made redundant to save money? Or was John Gregory just making excuses?
And was it not the case that budgets were cut again the following year prior to Eren's cash injection when he took over? (By the way I thought Yates did a decent job with the mediocre squad he had and was rewarded with the sack).
In fact I still have the notes I took at the last forum before you left where the statement was read out by DP that basically said you were in it for a bit of fun (the same forum where Pottinger did his rather odd "my money my shares" speech).
If it wasn't getting bored, well it was quite clear your appetite was waning, however please accept my apologies if you were upset by my choice of wording.
I have been watching Crawley since 1988 (so well before your time I believe) up to 2018. In that time I have seen 6 sets of owners, 2 administrations and a couple of other struggles. Owners and benefactors come and go....that is not spite, just a fact of life in football.
And yes, I am currently watching local football. It's hardly a secret and I'm not exactly the first of the 9,000 Old Trafford crowd to drift away. In fact at one game last season I was stood next to 3 other ex STHs/CTSA board members. I made the decision when it became clear that (in my view, naturally) the current regime had no idea what they were doing. We will see whether this season that changes.

Indeed JB when the previous government backed Supporters Direct and the trust model it was to give supporters an independent say in the running of their club. You can see that at Blackpool where the trust played a key role in opposing the Oyston regime. In fact at Crawley the trust was formed in response to the Majeed ownership.
If all that was needed was a bit of brown nosing then the cost of a regulated structure would not be required. And let's face it there is no reason why any supporters wishing to help the club financially can't do so either individually or as a group.
It was only 2 years ago that CTSA finally got the fan rep agreed....and gave the club £8,000 in return. Ok, it hasn't worked (not least because in 2 years the owner hasn't attended a single meeting) but it wasnt for lack of trying.

Simon, I feel like a need a shower every time I read a post or a tweet from you. Your so negative. It’s depressing !!!
Just say one positive thing a month about CTFC. Past or present. Trust me it will feel good.
As for me I’m off this forum. Too many conspiracy theories, Majeed talk and reminiscing the good old days of Non league obscurity.

HKP your time, efforts, money, input, interest and many more positive contributions has been absolutely fantastic. Im sure I speak for many by saying your input herein is insightful and of great interest to many. Thank you for taking the time to post on the forum.

If you look back Paul you will see that my posts are a mix. Isn't that what a forum is for - debating?
I also acknowledged that the CTSA needed to move on, however it needs volunteers, and as you can see above it seems people prefer not to take the initiative and instead wait for you to tell them what to do. Always it's easy for people to snipe and moan, however few actually get out from behind their keyboards, and by the sounds of it it will remain that way.
As for non league obscurity, well the club has been around 123 years, we do have a history, and funnily enough we did win things sometimes (google Francis Vines). Although of course I understand it might suit your agenda to airbrush all that. As for Majeeds, they only get mentioned because that is why we needed to set up an independent supporters body, or there may well have been no CTFC left for you to elevate. No conspiracy theory there, you only need to read the club's history at www.ctfchistory.co.uk
Like most Crawley folk I respect the time, work and money you put into the club, however I presume you are not suggesting I need to be sycophantic as a result?

I for one would want the CTSA to remain independent. I am also happy if as reported that they have £20k in funds. As an organisation with trust status these funds could be invaluable if the club gets into difficulties as per Bury, Bolton etc.

Flounce away matey... You don't understand it & never will, cos you never had to live through it & take a stance...!
You will never understand what ordinary people - with few financial assets - went through... because they love this club...!
You will never understand that fans have a more nobler motive than just what you perceive as "interfering".
Now lightweight... why don't we all jointly come up with a model that encourages greater fan engagement AND endorses independent oversight & scrutiny... ISN'T THAT A POSITIVE PROPOSAL...? ...unless (of course) you are afraid of a bit of responsible probity & prefer to have a hissy fit instead... Glory-Boy...!
I hate it when you sit on the fence Thad......................................
I am a one-man "splinter" group Les.
I am sure that Glory-Boy won't understand my point because I am not kissing his backside... he can malign the forum all he likes...
...but the ONLY reason he has any credibility on it (and social media), was because responsible folk gave him an opportunity to successfully - once he had finally stopped acting like a sulking spoilt rich playpen bully - manage his public introduction to the fanbase.
He'd still be cowering in the shadows behind a curtain of flimsy puppets if they hadn't bothered... lightweight...!
