Too many midfielders out on loan now. What happens if Bully gets injured or suspended. Where’s Francombe not been seen since the Northampton game? Would like to get Smith back and play him but I don’t think we’ll see him in a red shirt again. Strange times it looks like GC Is clearing out the old guard but I think we’re being left short.

Good decision by GC Payne isn't good enough to get into this side we have more than enough cover in midfield
Hopefully Ebbsfleet are covering a large proportion of his wages
Interesting, we were chasing the game & needed to change things on Saturday... Payne did... it was too little too late, but he does at the very least give us a different option.
I agree that he can be peripheral & even a bit of a luxury on occasions... but IMHO has also put in some decent - even match-winning - displays for us over the seasons and wish him well at Ebbsfleet.
Sensible move - Dannie has nailed the position down. Francomb is decent back up and his current injury is not mega serious. With Beadu being given his chance we are covered
I’ve liked Josh and he plays good football the right way. Just that little bit of pace and mobility is missing and means he can’t help out the defence as effectively as others
I am in the bad move camp Payne offers something different his distribution is second to none in league two. His never going to break speed records but looked fitter than ever this season. Our bench looked thin last week curious who the depth in midfield is ? Wingers yes but who is left in central mid?
We have a plethora of wide midfielders but central it's really Camara, Bulman Francombe and or Ferguson. Only two of those can usually play at one with the set up of two wide men I.e Lubala, George the new dutch man and Cox. Young ata push.

Fair play Thad however 1 game doesn't make him good enough on a regular basis with 4 or 5 ahead of him he had to move for the sake of his career, like the poster before mine said lets hope he finally put a run of performances together that he hasn't been able to do at Crawley then when he returns in January like Smith he can push for a place, however he won't have the same impact as Smith has had
GC said Payne has been pressing him for regular football something he couldn't guarantee.I agree he looked fitter than before and on his day can offer a football alternative but GC doesn't seem to tolerate unhappy players in the squad.
Bit of a concern that we’ve let 3 good experienced pro’s depart since the start of the season and not replaced them. Squad balance doesn’t look right at the moment with 4 right backs and 1 left back. Surprised that Francomb isn’t given a run at right as he’s our only full back that can actually defend! The core of Morris, Dallison, Tuncliffe and Bulman looks as good as any of the teams we’ve come up against. I feel we are weak (defensively) on both flanks. Bez has shown some great goals scoring ability, but you never see him back supporting Doherty so he’s left massively exposed. RGC on the other hand puts in a great shift getting forwards and back, but Sesay looks all at sea trying to defend. Been unlucky with centre forward injuries, and I wonder if Bez will feature as a striker in the next few games.
