Well, that's about as bad as it gets.
I thought pretty much the whole team struggled
Other than hitting the post, Ferguson's only impact was on his own players - I think he wiped three out at one point or another and we only really looked like something would happen when Ollie came on with 10 mins left.
Poor Mason was ineffectively chasing shadows all game and looking seriously unfit, Ferguson may as well have joined me in the stand and Reece, very unlike him, overran everything while still looking our best player.
Let's not analyse the defence too much - four completely unchallenged goals, all in the middle against some of our better players in recent weeks.
Personally, I can't blame the players for being distracted, it was bound to happen. The one worry is that Colchester seem to be coming onto a game, they know from the second half of the league game that their defending in depth won't work against us, so they may be more attack minded and any scout on Saturday would be rubbing their hands in anticipation.
Still onwards to Tuesday.
GABRIELE CIOFFI's RED ARMY!
Ferguson is without a doubt one of the most frustrating players I’ve ever seen in a Crawley shirt. Clearly has talent, but his lack of effort winds me up no end. Never more than strolling round the pitch
