Our playing style has an emphasis on energetic running, but sometimes the weather gods are not too helpful towards providing us with ground conditions that favour that approach...
...without any science whatsoever, i feel that last season our results would map against the prevailing meteorology, bright autumn, bleak winter & spring revival...
...this season - so far, in general - appear to reflect a similar pattern, however, we have had some outstanding results in downpours, although our worst display was in a drenching against Swindon...
...so maybe it raises that perennial question of a plan B, particular for when conditions require an alternative methodology...(?)
A sudden change in the weather in Fleetwood (FA Cup) and villages of Sussex (Sussex Senior Cup) could alter the Season dramatically such that a winter of discontent extends beyond Brexit and into the corridors of Parliament AKA Crawley Borough and surrounding areas of Red beyond the Borough. If that change occurs temperatures could rise in the Boardroom of Hong Kong and this is expected to be related to how soon Spring of hope arrives (or doesn't) in the terraces of Broadfield. If however Autumn leaves Fleetwood, Hastings and Haywards Heath in cooler temperatures the temperature in the Borough of Crawley should rise to unprecedented levels, arguably linked to that experienced in the dreary north of Accrington in 2012, such that, climate change, XR and any winter of discontent is expected to be short lived seeing the Borough of Crawley spring into an early Summer.
Tuesdays game showed yet again that no matter which players or formation we play we are always vulnerable when defending. The attacking facet of our game has improved massively but unless we learn to defend as a team we will not improve as a club.
