Right decision and disappointing the way a promising start went so badly downhill. Edu should have gone as well, considering how bad the tactics and subs have been so not sure why they have made him interim manager.
perhaps little choice until Harry Rednap is appointed....well i can hope, dream
All the best Gab. Seemed like a genuinely nice bloke, but with supposedly a top half budget, we have become a bottom half team with no signs of turning it around.
Seems slightly odd timing but then you know what we're like for sacking managers after FA Cup defeats.
Paul Tisdale please (though appreciate that might be a tad ambitious)
Tisdale would be great, but I doubt he would want to work with a DOF and "consultant" hanging around.
Honestly the club needs a slightly wider clearout. So far Eren has gone through the experienced lower league manager (Yates), the PL coach (Drummy), the big name pro (Kewell) and now the unknown (Cioffi). You can only fire so many managers before people start to question whether the owner's team really have a scooby doo. You only have to look at their record in Turkish football to find that doubtful.
And the worry is that it’s not like there’s an experienced football person or football administrator to make the next appointment either.
Knows the players been doing his coaching badges knows the club
He's having a good season on the pitch, maybe in the future, but not now.
Exactly. He showed on Sunday as he has done all season, that he still has a lot to give on the pitch. Wait until he’s retired so he can focus on playing now.

Get rid of those two and the new manager might have a chance. They bring nothing to the club.
Although it may have been the right decision, we should remember that a decent man has lost his job and whatever we may think of Cioffi's ability as a manager, most people regard him as a decent man.
The club have handled this extremely well - it is easy in these circumstances to use pejorative statements like "sacked", "removed" etc but the club chose to refer to it as "mutual consent", which gives respect to both parties and allows Cioffi to move on with some dignity.
I’d much rather a combination of Bulman, Morris & Smith take over the reigns even if just till end of season. How many L1 & 2 games between those 3! Plus about 60 years experience at this level, why not use it?

EDU RUBIO'S RED ARMY!
Which means unlike some other decent people made redundant and getting no pay off im sure Cioffi would have had his hand shaken and an appropriate pay off. Not sure the remainder of his contract but mustve been until end of season.

We cannot take a Kevin Keegan risk here. Some great players do not make great managers. But are there any good managers affordable and available now? I would like to see us approach managers that we wouldnt dream of asking normally what have we to lose and there are only so many clubs to go around so there must surely be some good ones out there keen to restart again and what better than a well oiled family club.
I can see Edu Rubio winning the next 3 league games and be given the managers job on a permanent basis.
I am sorry that it did not work out for Cioffi. Pleased that he broke away from HK passing it out from the back. He got the team scoring goals but in the end results let him down.
