Great guy but I do not think Yems is the right man not at this stage. I know that may be unpopular but its my honest opinion. Harry Redknapp would be my choice but I also want an Aston Martin for Christmas if you are reading this Santa!
John Yems is a good guy who I’ve seen a number of times since he left us, in a variety of different places. Did a great job working for - and defending - the odious Majeeds - and was then royally shafted for his loyalty and sacked.
Since then, been an amazing rise via Exeter and Torquay then onto the Bournemouth express when they were in the same division as us - next stop, the Premier League.
He does have very limited experience as a manager though, and none in the Football League, so while I have understood why his name frequently comes up on here regarding the manager’s job, it does rather go against one of the main criticisms of Cioffi and other previous appointments....which is a lack of managerial experience in the Football League. That said, if it is him, then I wish him the very best of luck.
I don’t think John Yems is the right man at all. He doesn’t have any managerial experience at this level. Everyone has to start somewhere (something I personally know all too well when applying for jobs) and he has a great coaching background at a higher level, I just think he’d be too much of a risk and I don’t think we can afford to gamble as we are fairly close to the relegation zone and if it goes wrong and we get relegated it would be a DISASTER for this club as we could be stuck in non league for years and years again.
Yems is a good guy with plenty of experience so I’d be very happy if it was him. The man management side is the biggest part and Cioffi clearly couldn’t manage that side of things. It’s a simple game just get the players believing in themselves.

I do wonder if language was a problem here. Best stick with an English manager whoever that is
If its Yem’s then good luck to him, also curious there’s no new manager odds yet? You would have thought the bookies would be Salivating when a manager gets sacked.

I’m worried that they have given this Edu guy a chance. Needs a fresh start in my view.
I've spoken to Yemmsy over the years as he likes to attend Crawkey games, i am always impressed by what & who he knows... Proper old skool football man..
I'd like to see him here in some capacity - does not have to be manager although he did well in extremis before - and also Bulman in a tracksuit role...!

you might be right there perhaps until end of season after all we are safe from relegation (seriously lets not get paranoid thinking we will drop down when the players are far better than that) and no cups to play for except sx snr cup, then the owmers might well giveEdu a chance. Nothing to lose approach.

I am really surprised you feel we are safe. Seven points really isn’t much considering nearly 30 games left and being bottom of the form table. How confident are we of beating Morecambe away? I don’t actually feel we will go down, but if the club are appointing someone just because they are banking on us being safe that is priming us to fail. Far better squads than ours have been relegated over the years, however you are correct with Bury and Macclesfield fiasco going on, might end up nobody goes down! Also, I’d rather the longer term next manager is installed soon as possible to access the team and start building.
