Lol did Yems just say he hadn’t realised Dacres-Cogley had been here earlier in the season?
Im glad you posted this as i thought i was hearing things. Cue the 'we have too many players' .... i admire his honesty but some things are better not said in public.
As I wait to leave the car park... Happy with a little lucky point. We did well in the first half but didn't make the most of it. Second half was all Colchester and we had some luck with a scrappy own goal.
Nice stadium. One Crawley can shepherded out by stewards
Didnt look that lucky watching it on ifollow, much the better side 1st half, yes they had second half but pretty even overall I thought, just that we dont take our chances well enough?
Palmer went down holding his head after running near the dugout after the goal. Was something thrown from the crowd? I played it back and it looked his head connected with a player's knee in the goalmouth (no allegations - it was an accident) and maybe it was a delayed reaction.
I’m surprised we got away with that, Definitely looks like Palmer guided the ball in with his arm I won’t complain though😂
I thought that as well, but I slowed down the footage and the ball was over the line at that point anyway. Thankfully we don’t have the horror of VAR (yet).
Watched it on ifollow. As others have said, we looked the better team in the first half and had a number of good chances, including one outstanding chance to take the lead. The second half was more even but Glenn only had one real save to make all afternoon. This is one of the most pleasing aspects of the Yems era - we don't look like conceding. Even though they scored there were no bomb scare moments at the back, no constant heart in the mouth moments - quite the reverse, we marshalled their strikers very well throughout and left them chasing half chances.
It looked from the set up that we might struggle in the middle but I thought we controlled the midfield very well in the first half in particular. I thought everyone played well from Glenn to Ollie - they all put a shift in and we played some very good football, especially in the first half. For me, MoM was between Ferguson (I know!), Ollie, Bez and any of the back three.
I wonder if Ollie got a touch for the goal? It would be far better to be able to give it to him than consign it to the pit of despair that is the own goal.
Play like that every week and we won't have to spend too much time looking beneath us.
