any thoughts on Mason? would of course benefit from a run in the side but for me the jury is still very much out for him. Time will tell. Its very noticeable how pur 'style' of play is much better suited to Palmer in the team than out of the team and consequently he's missed when not on the pitch.
He is a very big unit, but, he has no upper body strength and gets knocked off the ball far too easily.
No way will he be offered a contract on return to his parent club.
Agree with SonsFC about Tunnicliffe...he was MoM also. German did well, as was said good pace and hold up play....however, he doesn't jump for the ball simply sticks his backside into the defender.....RGC was not as good as normal imho; he didn't track back on quite a few occasions and left our def exposed.....Yems got a bit shouty about this, thus the sub I would think.
I dont think he has been as good as he was before he got injured. Just before he got subbed he was not showing any desire to track back or chase for 50 - 50 balls his whole performance was not up to his normal standard.
I had forgotten about RGC's injury and whilst Saturday wasn't the highlight performance of the season and RGC included there, I thought he did better than OK and his commitment is one of the best in the squad. Works hard, goes hard into tackles and considering he is not the biggest fella in our squad he often comes off the better in these moments. Exceptional player that we are fortunate to have with us. One of the first players I would be looking to write down on my team sheet.
I know I've said this before but what does Allarakhia have to do to at least get used as sub, whilst I respect him Camara is so inconsistent we must have seen enough to know he can be a liability especially in centre midfield.Powell looks like he could provide the midfield guile we lack and why was Francome not in the squad, injured or ill?

What a strange game it was on Saturday. On reflection, probably one of the worst performances of the season. We couldn't put more than two passes together before either giving it away, or aimlessly launching it forward. The one time we did was when we scored the second.
That said, I'll take a 2-0 home win all day long, though it must be admitted that the scoreline was far more a reflection on Stevenage's poor finishing. A better team would probably have beaten us.
Morris superb as per. Thought JDC was one of the few to come out looking impressive too. Tunnicliffe was solid enough, as was Sendles-White, but whether through instruction or not, he was the worst culprit for lashing long balls to no-one in particular. Doherty was, well, Doherty. One or two good things to mask the 15 or so errors (may sound harsh but I really don't rate him... can you tell?)
Ferguson is very hit and miss, and Saturday was a miss, as were most of his passes. Doesn't offer enough in a midfield two for me. Means Bully has to do even more running for a 40-year old. He himself was slightly less effective than usual, but I'd tend to blame the water he was carrying for Nathan.
RGC is great, but was clearly not fit enough with his knee all taped up. You could see from his first sprint that he was at about half his usual pace, which takes so much away from his game. Bez was sublime and ridiculous. His goal was fantastic, his assist was perfect, but his other efforts were, erm, less so. Also didn't like to see him brushing off Powell for the free kick. He may well have been the designated taker, but could he not have just calmly explained that to Powell, rather than just grabbing the ball and seemingly pretending he didn't have his teammate in his ear?
Nadderz didn't quite look the same without Palmer, and had a pretty quiet game up until his goal, which was an even better finish when you saw it back on telly. Bloomfield, well, he just isn't up to it. He tries, and he managed to get a couple of openings, but either his confidence is completely shot, or he simply is not very good at football. Given our other options, I don't think we're in a position to be playing him into form, especially when his replacement was much better (and has also hardly had any football recently).
Of the subs, Camara made a difference but was summed up by that infuriating winning of the ball and immediate returning of it to the Stevenage defence, Powell looked good, and much better than Ferguson, but you don't know how much that was down to getting to play against a tiring opposition, and German was much more effective than the man he replaced. Hadn't seen him for more than a few minutes here or there, but there's definitely something there to work with. Showed strength, pace and just more intent to get amongst it. One of the most frustrating things about Bloomfield is that he's got the build to be a nuisance, but never uses it. He seems to lose every duel, but German was up for a scrap. He should have done better with that 1v1 though. He had about 5 touches to try and get the ball onto his right foot and never quite managed it.
Overall, a bad performance and a good win. I much prefer that than a good performance and bad defeat, as was often the way.
