The Licence payers, so we should ALL take the credit here😉.
Awaits Ant to defend his Luvvies🙄..........

you re absolutely correct however Linekar presumably volunteered this whereas others as you mention on huge pay deals are apparently quiet. Now whether that apparently offered by billionaires like Richard Branson amounts to 2 months 'wages' or just loose change who knows!
I thought I saw somewhere that Barcelona players have taken a 70% pay cut
Still raking it in. Most players still on 500K - 1M.
I think This current crisis will shake up the whole economy big time, including football and I do think some footballers and clubs will be in for a shock.
For example, who'll be paying £80 to watch Arsenal, Chelsea etc, when they are uncertain of their future job prospects ?
The economy will take a long time to recover from this crisis and leisure spending will be drastically reduced.

Sad but true.
I hope you’re right because it’s about time that football at the top level has a reset because they’ve been mugging off fans for over 20 years now.
I want to see the season finished however long that takes before it re-starts. Integrity of football is at stake. Why scrap one season to start the next, when what happens if we have another pandemic wave?
In our case that amounts to 2 games a week for 5 weeks and 1 game around that. Doable. But if this were to happen, by the time it’s started and then finished, the new season will be very swiftly upon us.

ridiculous. if social distancing is removed why would players play contact sport but fans can't watch? some fans will be happy to see season out of course others may feel they've missed out watching and even if (and no mention of) matches were televised or streamed live fans (cue pubs full of fans) would no doubt be expected to pay in some cases twice (season ticket and tv) utterly ridiculous planning for something when lockdown could extend weeks or months, its an unknown BUT the big unanswered question has to be whats the reason for playing behind closed doors? are players immune from the virus and fans arent or something? and imagine a play off final with no fans attending.... outside the stadium they will...get real, what clowns come up with these ideas?
I see Norman 'bites ya legs' Hunter is now hospitalised with corona, but no word on how he's faring apart from that. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52244115
www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52247400 Test all players ahead of playing, um only takes one and a whole team is out nd we go back to square one. And what about coaches, ball boys, groundsman, officials etc AND how will this those in care homes, key workers delivering groceries as well as forgotten NHS workers feel about well paid footballers getting this testing when they are still waiting?
