Sergio Aguero: Players 'scared' about Premier League return - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52493894 Brighton striker Glenn Murray says some proposed protocols around the Premier League's return to action, such as wearing face masks, are "farcical".
"Face masks is going to be off-putting; it is not going to be natural. People will be ripping them off in games," the 36-year-old said. "It is quite farcical.
Red card for a ripped mask? I can't believe im typing this! The more you think about this the crazier it becomes or does it? Or does money talk and will have the final say?
Im sure ive read somewhere that these more basic masks are quite useless when sweat forms under them so on that basis Glenn Murray's "farcical" remark seems fitting.
How the ref blows his whistle with a mask on....this is getting silly now....maybe they'll carry a car horn with them instead.
It’s the reality that next season may have to be postponed. What’s the point of clubs at our level playing without fans? That’s fine for the sofa brigade who follow Prem clubs

that may well be the case. I do fear for the survival of some clubs at our level. More money must filter down and the fat cats take less of the bounty.
Absolutely football needs a reset and more money filtering down the football pyramid.
True, as a one off. On the other hand you might say that the best form of long-term security is for clubs really need to live within their means and not be dependent on others.
By "football needs a reset" I would be thinking of:
1. Tighter wage caps linked to ongoing revenue not owner's pocket depth 2. Regionalisation of football from L1 downwards, with more local games (eg Woking travelling to Hartlepool is financial nonsense) 3. Many clubs in the Conference and below (where 13 clubs have average crowds of <2,000) should revert to part time status 4. End to parachute payments which are anti competitive and protect teams that gamble 5. More 4G pitches, allowing 365 day a year use and income and avoiding winter postponements 6. Smaller squads - I don't know who is actually at Crawley these days and who is/was on loan but 30+ players listed on website is madness

Point 1 yes that would be an ideal whether it will happen im less sure Point 2 yes good example of madness - Im just curious if there was any particular argument when the game moved from the rationalised based to national at the lower levels Point 3 I think the current situation will force more of this to happen in fact I be surprised if in the longer term that doesn't become the norm Point 4 Totally agree but I can never see that happening - personally Id rather see a parachute payment for a team that drops out of league 2 (yeah even Stevenage) as I see the drop into Non-league far more hurtful than the Premier league fall. yes still anti-competitive but I think it makes a statement once a club gets out of non-league football we look after you even if you fall again. Perhaps the concession would be an extra club down and up each season. Point 5 I absolutely hate non grass pitches and would love to see plastic banned. Point 6 Again as with point 3 I be surprised if the economics don't force this to happen and I too don't know who is/isn't at the club in/out contract. Im sure some of the info is out there I've just lost touch perhaps. Absolutely correct 30+ players listed on website is madness for a club at our level unless these owners have bottomless piggy banks of money.

The gulf between PL and Championship is the biggest in world football.
It seems bizarre to me that teams relegated from PL get £90m over three seasons, while clubs in Championship get £14m. It just encourages bad financial planning.
