Its a mess...league 1 clubs relegated or not? Promotion from league 2? Stevenage must not be relegared that would be completely unjust but so would denial of Barrow up into league 2. Oh and before someone mentions it....devalued Crawley season ticket blah blah, wheres the refund. Important points are safety of all concerned and of course paying out for testing etc wouldve sent some clubs under. Why the sudden rush to reach a decision on the current season? Madness -we could completed in in September, December next year, year after etc. By far one of the worst decisions in football along with non-league scrapped and clubs already 'promoted' having now been denied. Madness. And Im not happy about this. Football must be settled on the pitch.
I’ll repeat what I’ve said many times recently. The longer this goes on, the more next season will be disrupted, under threat etc...so why this rush to conclude this season?
I wanted the season played out on the pitch, but with the financial state of many clubs, paying to play was not an option. With Macclesfield's recent point deduction, I can well understand Stevenage's aversion to being relegated. However, that may become irrelevant as clubs go to the wall.

if and when its safe to play league 2 football again clubs will either be struggling or have gone to the wall anyway but the integrity of the game collapses and this terrible virus wins if we dont conclude the current season. Imagine football cant restart until midway through next season....how many people will be saying "we couldve completed last season now". Once its confirmed then I cant see anyway back.
It’s a very sensible decision, the 3 clubs deserve to go up after their good football this season.
I know this is more controversial but a different principle applies to relegation as penalising a club in these terrible financial circumstances for me is wrong. However much you may dislike Stevenage, for me it’s also good we keep a grudge fixture that’s not huge miles away.
Worrying about finishing this season when the next is likely to be badly affected always seemed to me odd priorities
Now the problem starts with sorting out contracts who goes and who stays also with no one knowing when next season will start what period do the contract run for.

The only thing that bugs me about Stevenage is that their town is like looking at Crawley through a concave mirror - alternative dimension - like some sci-fi horror film.
League Two: How did your club react to the season being cancelled early? - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52689622 The comments from Crawley's technical director arent very reassuring ... the "hope".
The quote that stood out for me was from Colchester:
"For the first time I've ever known and for something as complicated, all 24 clubs were in agreement," chairman Robbie Cowling told BBC Essex.
I realise it needs to be confirmed but surprised the Crawley Town club official website is reporting nothing.
I'll be honest and say I wanted the season completed but when you hear figures of £125k per team for the testing and no income from fans due to games behind closed doors it becomes untenable.
Promotion and relegation from our division is pretty straightforward if the play offs goes ahead but not so clear cut from the conference (who after Barrow? Harrogate?) and I feel for Tranmere who appeared to be on a run out of trouble in league 1.
The next issue is next season. Do we start in August, as planned? If not when? Will crowds be allowed? Will there have to be testing?
No crowds and testing has the same effect on finances for clubs as now. If we can't afford it now we will not be able to afford it then.
Personally feel the league should be planned for a normal start but be prepared for a delay but I'm also prepared to listen to other opinions and I am not set in stone on restarting in August.

if its untenable now it will still be in August, September, October, November, December .. etc unless the global situation around Covid19 changes and/or football redistributes money further down the food chain (for testing etc). Therefore, NOTHING changes in August when the season would've started and yet there is talk of starting a new season LAUGHABLE! Until the aforementioned situ is met, so I simply do not understand the need to RUSH a decision to finish the current season. In fact, I argue it WONT be finished as you may well have clubs taking legal action over promotion. play offs, relegation etc. All of this does not of course help the financing of clubs and obtaining sponsorship etc (unless you have a Karry Kane at hand (paying sponsorship for Orient)) and I have concerns that teams will fold. If the argument is we can't finish the current season next season AND play out next season, I say that argument doesnt stack up as the timings are all unknown AND you could re-configure next season accordingly but at the start. If we had a second wave of Covid19 and the season is again abandoned, the integrity of the game will be very seriously at risk and that in itself risks the game as we have always known it and the change most certainly would not be for the better.
