It has been reported in various papers that there will be 1500 unemployed footballers when 1st July comes.
Worrying times for families I can imagine.
I can imagine there will be quite a bit of player movement generally over the summer, perhaps later rather than sooner as clubs will need to see where they stand financially.
Thats a lot of unemployed footballers. Its also I suggest a further argument to finish the current season (however long that takes) as teams that shift leagues promoted or relegated may well find the impact has more effect as some clubs may well benefit from teams higher up the pyramid (and even within their own league based on this season's placings) that choose/cannot retain as many players on the books. Furthermore, arguably these 'better' players get snapped up ahead of others. The knock on effect could be top non-league clubs in particular part-time ones get to sign some of these players.
As for "Will a big name Premier League player sponsor our shirt ?" - how about Gareth Southgate he has roots in the town, are you reading Gareth? One way or another money MUST repeat MUST be re-distributed past the Premier League and Championship - clubs like Crawley Town need far more than a few Premier league clubs bringing their youth team to the Broadfield for a pre-season friendly. Right now and certainly before long it would be good to have an update (not sure on what but I guess Im seeking some reassurances Crawley Town Football Club will be in existence next season, next year) from the club owners. How are we placed?

I would say more likely it's an argument for ending the season. Players are out of contract on 30th June, they need to start looking around.
Also how could you restart the season on say 1st July if clubs have no players to fill fixtures?

Im sure 99% the unemployed footballers will be looking to sign up somewhere and they will be less likely to hold clubs to ransom of big pay deals/contracts.

That wasn't my point. Clubs are already releasing players effective 30th June to save money.
What happens if you reach a point in July. One club needs the points for promotion. The other (like Crawley) really has nothing to play for so have released half their squad and put out a team of kids meaning the game ends up in a thrashing. How does that help anyone?

You can argue that a team putting out kids isnt competing at the same level and I get that but its happened before Coventry comes to mind - I believe though professional football clubs will always have players available to contact even if hats on a short term basis. The fact many will be out of contract for me make little difference as in most job roles that are short term and roll on its easy enough to renew and many jobs work on that basis on an ongoing basis, no reason football couldn't and I believe clubs will be in a strong position to say take it or leave it; in fact given for many league 1 and 2 cubs it will be survival at stake players will know that and in the end be grateful to be fulfilling their dreams of plying professional football/

Time will tell I guess. I suspect many players will start to focus on jobs outside football.
However I don't think it makes sense for promotion and relegation to be determined by who can rustle up 11 players on short term deals to fulfil fixtures. I'm also less convinced that players will want to operate like that, it isn't every job and industry where you can get one bad injury and you have had it.
